We attended two walks with him, Old Lucknow city tour and Bara Imambara. We started at the Bara Imambara ,learning the history behind these famous monuments, Bara Imambara, Teelewali Masjid and Rumi Darwaza. We did the old Lucknow city walk exploring the chowk area of Lucknow , also explored the local food while exploring chowk. Narration and articulation of Mr. Samir Kher is simply superb and the entire walk was very interesting.

Attended two walks (War Chronicles and Palace Complexes) by Deep Dive India on my recent trip to Lucknow, both the walks were wonderfully curated and very informative.

We were looking for something other than familiar stores and restaurants that would help us connect with the city better. Samir ji did exactly that with his artful storytelling.
We were with him for over 3 hours and yet did not get bored even for a second. We did a walk of the Residency and he breathed life into our imagination about the mutiny. in the end, we had the best history immersion as he gave us the chronological chain of events that led to the city and its present culture.
Thanks to Roobaroo Walks for connecting us with a stellar storyteller!

Samir Kher was our daastan-goh during our visit .His story telling with maps ,paintings and sketches made our trip memorable. The food trail through old city was delicious . The visit to residency and his narration of events of first war of Independence was riveting. I could actually visualize the events unfolding in my mind. The food served for lunch and dinner at old havelis during the trip was authentic Lucknow food and delicious. Worth every rupee we paid for.

I completed a virtual tour today (using Zoom) of Lucknow old city with Roobaroo walks. It was of 1.5 hours, along with a few simple quizzes, and they stayed online for an extra half hour to answer everyone's questions.
I found it quite informative and interesting, it covered mainly the history and architecture. It focused on the Chowk area, the oldest part of Lucknow, a few palaces by the nawabs of Lucknow, the British residency and Bada Imambara and Rumi Darwaza gate.
Even though it was a virtual tour, the organizers managed to fit even more useful information than a real tour, by adding google maps to show how the city expanded, historical paintings of old Lucknow, quotes from European visitors, rise of British power etc.
I found this really interesting and would love to repeat it. I have been on quite a few virtual tours in this Covid era, and this one I found more informative than the others, in the short time available. Would definitely recommend it.

Since I visited Lukhnow for the first time, it is good to have experience of old city walk. Both imambada are in this area. It is worth visiting place from the historical point of view.

"Awadh" as Lucknow was known is a city of untold history and many fascinating cultural stories.
I was grateful that I could be part of the one day customised tour of Roobaroo walks which included the Residency, interesting lanes of Chowk - checking the chikankari, itar, the famous Tunde kebabs and ending it with La Martinere college. Interacting with Samir was an enthralling experience as he unfolded the history pages so creatively with his stories supported with maps and pictures.
