What a beautiful experience! This class was a real highlight of our trip. It was interesting going to the market in the morning and learning about all of the ingredients we would be using. The class was informative and fun, and the food delicious. The location is also amazing, and we learnt a lot about Balinese life in general. We wanted to experience authentic Bali and this was it.

My wife and I had a truly fabulous time. Made was just amazing. He speaks excellent English, helpful for us with a poor command of Bahasa Indonesian. His family were very welcoming at their beautiful home. We were taken to a most interesting local market. Then we were taken through the cooking stages at a pace that matched our skill level. All explanations were clear and the purpose of each step was outlined. The meal was absolutely delicious and we ate in a gorgeous setting. We have been to a number of cooking classes in other countries but this was far and above the best. Made carefully tied everything we did in with its relationship with Balinese culture. We learnt so much and had an amazing time.

The whole experience was amazing. Sunday (hope i wrote it right) is amazing and also talks a lot about Balinese culture. The food was amazing and he was really helpful and kind. Would recommend to anyone.

Fantastic experience..from beginning to end!
Morning at local markets to purchase produce back to traditional family compound for coffee and banana fritters before begain our cooking.
Learnt so much not only about traditional Balanese cooking but also their way of life and traditions.
Would totally recommend this experience!

The Lobong Cooking Experience is an immersive and authentic culinary adventure that is not to be missed for anyone visiting Bali. Led by the charismatic and knowledgeable host Seng, the experience starts with a market tour where tourists are given a glimpse of how locals shop for ingredients. The tour provides an opportunity to see the local produce and learn about the unique ingredients used in Balinese cuisine.
After the market tour, Seng takes you back to his family home where you can relax and enjoy a cup of coffee and some delicious banana fritters. The cooking class itself is held in a traditional kitchen and is an interactive and hands-on experience. Seng is a skilled chef and teacher, and he does an excellent job of explaining the techniques and elements that make Balinese cooking unique. He also has a talent for storytelling, making the class an enjoyable and educational experience.
The class focuses on preparing a variety of traditional Balinese dishes using fresh ingredients. The class participants are able to make all of the sauces from scratch, and Seng's family also shows the traditional Balinese ceremony. After the class, participants can sit down and enjoy the delicious dishes that they have prepared. Seng also provides a recipe book so that participants can recreate the dishes at home.
The Lobong Cooking Experience is a must-do for anyone visiting Bali. Even if you don't like cooking, it is worth it simply to learn about Balinese culture and enjoy delicious food. The experience is an excellent way to immerse yourself in the local culture and learn about the food that is an integral part of it. The host, Seng, and his family are incredibly welcoming and make the experience even more enjoyable. If you don't do this, you are missing out!

This was a wonderful cooking class, but was so much more than that - mostly due to the generosity of Sang and his family who shared their knowledge of cuisine, the serenity and beauty of their family home, and information about their religion, culture and day to day living that made the class very special and a privilege to attend. After a seamless pick up we drove through the Ubud hinterland to a local market where the produce was explained and the menu’s ingredients were sourced. Then back to Sang’s family compound where under his and his family’s expert guidance we prepared a range of traditional balinese dishes from scratch which we then sat and enjoyed together for lunch. Sang’s english and communication skills are first class, and the class is very hands-on. Suitable for any skill level. Very strongly recommended for anyone interested in learning more about Balinese cuisine and culture. You won’t regret taking this class.

What an amazing, professional, excellent and truly local experience this was. From the start to the end, myself and my family thoroughly enjoyed the experience and I learnt more about the culture of Bali even though I have travelled there several times before. Our host, Sande, is easy to understand, very knowledgeable and great fun. If you want a truly authentic Bali cooking experience then this is the only cooking class you should attend. Absolutely wonderful.
