非常推荐一个人来Bromo旅行，来不及找临时拼团的游客，我在之前找了很多旅行社都只接待临时私人游，价格非常昂贵，直到找到了这家，不仅价格便宜，行程规划也很合理，准时从酒店接车，同行游客也只有两个，体验感非常好，Bromo公园非常漂亮，重点感谢我这次的导游Theodore，他非常热情，善良，真诚，有耐心，经验丰富，会解答我们的问题，帮我们购买热茶咖啡，凌晨的山上很冷，我穿得很单薄，他会询问我要不要租衣服，整个旅程都极为舒适，我会向所有要来印尼的朋友推荐这次day trip，毫无挑剔。

精彩的旅程
很好的一次行程。Malang市区内免费接送，凌晨出发比较辛苦，吉普车里有些拥挤，但景色真的不错。安排紧凑，去了好几个观赏点。导游Alvin是个很热情的小伙子，讲了一些当地的历史故事，也主动帮我们拍了很多照片，还会说一点点中文。司机大叔驾驶技术超好，车开得很快，节省了很多时间。总体而言很推荐，性价比高。

非常棒的旅行
这次旅行非常令人印象深刻，我会推荐我们的导游Denny，他一直和我们在一起介绍了很多东西，这让这次旅行非常值得。从午夜到第二天中午，直到他送我们回出发的酒店，我都非常关心。而且让我惊讶的是，玛琅有机场，可以直飞雅加达，所以我们不用麻烦去泗水搭飞机。

一个人跑来玛琅，本来看到几乎都是private your。看到这个public trip果断加入(当然也可以private）虽然要凌晨出发比较辛苦，但全程都安排的很好。还认识了人超好的德国couple，聊了一天。景色就无需多言，亲眼看更震撼。雨季一般天气也不错。非常推荐

整个旅行完全超出预期。本来以为就是在上面简单看一眼，但其实是类似溯溪一路下去，体验感爆棚。而且天气很好，看到了双彩虹。太震撼了另外向导人也非常好，一路还帮忙拍照，还会帮你运镜。总而言之，非常推荐！!!!

Bromo trip

We had an incredible trip to Bromo with our guide, Irwan. He was exceptionally kind and helpful, and we were impressed by how well he speaks English. We also want to highlight our driver, Mr. Wawan, who was an excellent driver. Thanks to him, we felt safe throughout the journey, even on the bumpy roads!

Exciting, varied 3-day tour

We really liked the 3-day tour and we saw a lot in a short time. The Tumbak Sewu waterfall as well as the two volcanoes Bromo and Ijen are very impressive and it is definitely worth getting up early. Our driver Adi was very reliable and took good care of us. However, there is a small point deduction for the guides on site: although they showed us around and took photos, they hardly told us anything, which was probably due to the English skills and sometimes made communication difficult. We would have liked to have received more information, on other tours we experienced this better. Also, we had booked the premium package because of the hot shower, but in the first hotel there was no hot water (the second hotel was again very good!).
On the positive side, communication with Smartway is still to be mentioned: very straightforward and flexible. We were able to postpone our Booking Referral by one day without any problems and also organize a further trip to Ubud via the provider.

Great trip

The trip is definitely great option if you want to do all three spots as back-to-back activities. However, this is quite challenging, as you spend many hours in car, commuting to further spots and have to wake up around midnight two days in a row for hiking. Nevertheless, the spots were truly amazing - we especially loved Bromo volcano and our tour guide (Irwan) to this part of the trip was really nice guy who did his job perfectly - he was the only person at the tour with good English skills (tour guide to Ijen spoke just really basic English). Sleeping spots were rather basic, the second one was however a bit dirty (“good” that we had only app. 5 hours there due to the midnight wake up). The agency definitely has to improve the communication with the customers…we had some problems i.e. with arranging the vegetarian option (we’ve asked about this before purchase of the trip and later on several different messages were given by the agency, as this could be problematic and even a partial refund was proposed to us - at the end of the day, all breakfasts were vegetarian as we just spoke to the reception of each homestay) or with getting to know what time shall we be ready for the trip (one driver told us to be ready at 2am and some other man showed up with other participants at 1:10 am and woke us up). We were also not provided with the information that there is no blue fire at Ijen at the time of the trip - and of course this was communicated as one of the biggest attractions. Before the trip we have also asked about Ijen and accessibility and we’re not aware of this limitation until the time of hiking up the Ijen (if we knew, we could have asked for a different option for a third day - as such were initially proposed before the trip, when Ijen was closed). All in all, we recommend this trip if you have limited time and want to access all three spots - in separate trips, such tight timeline would not be possible. However one has to be aware, that there are some shortcomings in this option.

Must do if visit in Indonesia!

1. The waterfall was unreal. We trekked right up to it which was amazing. It's a hard trek but super adventurous. Highly recommend doing this if you visit Indonesia. You can hire our water shoes at the start of the trek.

2. Mount bromo and the crater were amazing. We got picked up at midnight and it took approx 3 hours to get to mount bromo. There were 4 of us sharing the jeep which was ok but if you can afford it I'd recommend hiring a private jeep for comfort. We hired jackets from the local cafes when we got there because it gets really cold. The view from the top of mount bromo is breathtaking! We then drove to the crater, you get dropped off in the black dessert and it takes about an hour to walk to the crater which was surreal.

Overall, it was a great experience and the highlight of our trip!

Perfect 3 days trip

This 3 days trip in september was absolutely amazing, I can only recommend to everyone who would like to go in this part of indonesia.
The team is aviable at any team on WhatsApp and makes sure regulary that everything is ok. The organisation is very good. We were a group of 3 girls in one car and we had a good personal driver (hello Bonnie) and there were also 2 other cars with other tourists and we were in final a group of 7 which is very good when we are with a Guide. Also sometimes for example on tumpak sewu we were just us 3 with the Guide and it was also very good. Everyone is on time and if there is a delay you are immediately informed on whatsapp (but we never had any delay). Also Bonnie gave us breakfast on the road when we had to wake up early so thank to him for that. In final honestly don't hesitate, go for it! I'm am so happy to have been there and it's probably one of the best part of our trip on java.

This 3 day tour in September was amazing, I can only recommend it if you plan to go to this part of Java.
The team is available all the time via whatsapp and makes sure everything goes smoothly. We were a group of 3 girls and we had a great personal driver (hi Bonnie) and there were 2 other cars with other tourists, making a total of 7 people which is really good when you are with the guides on the sites. Also for example in Tumpak Sewu we were just 3 with a Great Guide and it was very good too. Everyone is on time and if there is ever a little delay you are directly informed by message (but we have never been late, they are even hyper punctual I find). Our driver also bought us Breakfast on the road when we had to leave very early. So frankly feel free, this has probably been one of the best parts of our Java journey.

3 days tour to Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Kawah Ijen with the tour organiser Smartway

We can highly recommend the tour organiser Smartway , Malang. My daughter and I went on a 3 days tour from Malang to Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Kawah Ijen . We had a fantastic experience to all places. The nature is extremely beautiful and spectacular. Everything was perfect organised and our driver Adi from Smartway was very kind and helpsome. At Bromo we had Eki as our guide and at Kawah Ijen JoJo/ Tajudin was our guide and we recommend both guides . At Kawah Ijen JoJo was guide just for my daughter and I which was nice as the trek is demanding , and we felt safe with him .
If you want an adventoure go on this tour with Smartway⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Quite exhausting but totally worth it

We booked this tour so we dont have to take care of the planning of our visit of East Java. The communication on whatsapp before the trip was OK, although the organisation of the trip itself was sometimes a little bit confusing and we didnt know until the last minute what was going to happen. But in the end, it was worth it. Our driver Nawal was absolutely amazing and helped us with everything we needed. First day we started at 7:00 AM, our driver picked us up in Malang and we visited Tumpak Sewu waterfalls. This part of trip was excellent. Drop off after waterfalls was in the early afternoon in small acommodation near Malang (not great, not terrible). Second day, early wake up at 1:00, then trip to Bromo which was also perfect. After Bromo very long and tiring trip to the town of Bondowoso. Hotel there was terrible but we didnt sleep at all since the late arrival. Third day trip to Ijen was the weakest part of the trip but probably only due to poor organisation on the spot (which is not the problem of Smartways but overtourism in that area) and quite lazy, slow and none-english speaking guy. Anyway, I would reccomend booking this tour.

From A to Z well regulated

We are very satisfied with the service we have been offered. Via WhatsApp we received all the necessary information in advance. What do you need and who is responsible for what activity. We praise our driver Fendi, he is respectful and has taken us everywhere on time. For each activity you will be assigned a guide, who will do their best to make you feel completely comfortable. We didn't remember all the names but Eki and the other guides, thank you very much!

The offered water, snacks, breakfast and lunch options in beautiful places also completed the tour. We have chosen the premium package in terms of overnight stays, we have been able to stay in more than luxury accommodations for a fair price. Only mega shame that you only sleep very short per night because of the night activities. Finally, there was the possibility to hire a driver for the trip to your next destination, in our case Ubud. Also super arranged for a fair price.

Tip: dress really warm enough for the Bromo tour, you may have to wait an hour before the sun rises, it will be really chilly. A winter coat is not a luxury (you can also rent them on the spot). At the Ijen you warm yourself because of the hike.

Thanks again to the organization! Really super arranged.

East Java Tour June 2024

We had an amazing tour of East Java. Our driver was top notch and his vehicle was spacious and comfortable with good air conditioning. The local guides we had for each specific activity were also great - in particular the waterfall guide which went out of his way to get us the best photographs and videos. He even edited/created an ‘adventure’ style video which was ideal for sharing with family/on social media.
Obviously, the views and photographs that you get on this tour can be weather dependant. In the case of Ijen there was quite a lot of cloud which prevented a good clear view of the acid lake once the sun had risen. This is not a criticism of the trip in - just something to be aware of - it is unreasonable to always expect ‘perfect’ conditions!

I was just about to book when I realized you have a "Budget offering" for 250 USD and a "normal" offering for 350 USD. I was wondering what are the differences between the two? I’d suggest good waterproof shoes/ boots would cover all three hikes. Depending on the time of the year, slightly warm clothing for Ijen hike as it’s early morning and tends to be a bit cold. Whether it will be challenging or not depends on your activity at tolerance. But it is suitable for those who are beginners too.
