Amazing, incredible, and nothing short of the greatest life experience anyone can do. The company does a great job entertaining, feeding, and finding all the wildlife on the trek. I highly recommend using this team-the guest houses, restaurant (and live music), and trekking tour make for an unforgettable experience.

This experience has been one of the best in my life. My husband and I did a 3 day trekking in the jungle and every single detail about it was amazing. From the very first mails, Heri was kind and professional. We are vegan and we requested a vegan menu, which they created specifically for us. Needless to say, it was delicious. He was also very easy to reach and was always in contact when we arrived to Megan’s airport, since a driver picked us up to take us to the guest house.
Once we arrived, the whole staff were beyond friendly and they make you feel welcome and are always making sure that you have everything you need in your room. And we’d like to specially thank Dedi for his amazing service and kind sense of humour.
Our trekking began the next day and our guide, Dedi was truly the best. Very calm, patience, wise about the jungle and the animals. Also, our cooks Bam Bam and Deki were super fun and kind. They have the best taste for jungle decorations! (Deki put together an actual center piece with wild flowers to decorate our fruits!)
After this 3 days trekking, we were able to spot 4 orangutans, as well as baboons, Thomson monkeys and long tail macacos.
I fully recommend this experience. Once in a lifte time experience.

It’s hard to describe in words the experience we had on this tour. One that I will remember and cherish forever. Every one involved is so lovely and welcoming and does everything they can to support you and most importantly make you laugh. They try their best to make your dreams of seeing the wonderful wildlife come true and are just as excited as you are when they spot them. We saw 5 orangutans including a baby and it was surreal and mesmerising. We got to see some quite close up but they said it’s not a certainty that this will happen. We saw many other animals too. The acomadation, food, transfer, cleanliness, english skills, trekking support, knowledge and kindness are honestly outstanding. They also go out if their way to learn from you and teach you about their lives and the conservation of the animals. They also to make sure you have lots of photos and videos for your memories. Our tour guides Danni and Helmi were just the kindest and funniest people and absolutely made the day even more special. I’ve been on so many tours in Asia and these guides are by far the best I’ve ever had. If you’re lucky you will get to hear the great and hilarious songs the staff have written and sing at dinner time. Book with them and I promise you won’t disappointed one bit.

We hebben de 3 dagen 2 nachten Jungle toer gedaan. Op dag 1 hebben we al heel snel een aantal orang-oetangs gespot. Heel bijzonder om van zo dichtbij te zien! Verder hebben we ook nog andere soorten apen en ander wildlife gezien. Zelf vonden wij het hiken echt goed te doen en er waren genoeg stops onderweg waar we fruit en een lunch kregen. Het eten op het kamp was ook goed!
We zijn ook 2 nachtjes gebleven in het huisje van deze organisatie in Bukit Lawang. Het ligt wel wat veder van het centrum af maar het is een heel chill plekje waar je heerlijk kunt eten.
Bedankt Helmi, Dani en Bambam als onze gidsen.
En Ekki en Donny voor het lekkere eten!
We zijn ook 2 nachtjes gebleven in het huisje van deze organisatie in Bukit Lawang. Het ligt wel wat veder van het centrum af maar het is een heel chill plekje waar je heerlijk kunt eten.

I did the happy jungle tour solo. Everything was well organized and went smoothly. The accommodation and staff at the lodge were wonderful. My guide Danny really made the experience. He is very knowledgeable about the animals and the plants. I got to see many orangutans, monkeys, and birds. I highly recommend this company and Danny as your guide.

The 3 days in the jungle was a amazing experience. I loved seeing all of animals and also the the hole team was great and funny. A lot of fresh fruits, really good food, nature, hiking and most imported the orang utans. It was a unbelievable experience watching them. I would everyone recommend going there and do it.

Fantastic experience from beginning to end. My wife and I did the 3 day Happy Jungle Tour which started with a pickup at the Medan airport and a warm greeting upon our late arrival. Then the amazing trek with our guides Andre and Adri who led us to see 5 orangutans. Watching the interaction of the mother and baby was really special. Our bungalow was a very comfortable accommodation. I highly recommend booking with them.

Such an amazing experience! The company who I was booked with fell through and Sumatra Orangutan Trekking was able to accommodate me last minute. The lodge was beautiful and comfortable, the service was great and the trek was unreal! Our guides Amead and Anto were so kind, genuine, helpful and knowledgeable. The food was delicious as well! I would 100% recommend!

Ich habe mir einen Jugendtraum erfüllt. Drei Tage die ich nie vergessen werde. Bereits im Vorfeld die perfekte Organisation von Hari über Whats App. Alles war bestens vorbereitet. Pünktlich am Flughafen in Medan abgeholt, der herzliche Empfang in Bukit Lawang durch Hari, Daddy mit seinem Team und Ahmed meinem Guide. Nach einem Begrüßungsdrink, dem Einzug in meine tolle Unterkunft, gingen wir (Ahmed und ich) noch in die Fledermaushöhle. Am Abend leckeres Essen und kühle Getränke. Zweiter Tag: Nach dem Frühstück, ging es mit Ahmed auf dem Roller zum Ausgangspunkt unserer Tagestour. Es war der perfekte Tag. Insgesamt konnten wir, aus teilweise nächster Nähe, fünf Orang Utans (auch Mutter mit Kind) , mehrere verschiede Affenarten und Vögel beobachten. Bestens umsorgt wurde ich von Ahmed mit Mittagessen, frischem Obst. Er erklärte mir die Pflanzen und Tierwelt. Mit einem Rafting Boot (drei aneinandergebundene LKW Reifen) ging es zum Ausgangspunkt zurück. Es war einfach nur beeindruckend !!!
Nach einem weiteren sehr lustigen Abend (mit Gitarre und so... ) ging ich glücklich und erschöpft ins Bett.
Dritter Tag: Es gab ein ausgiebiges Frühstück, anschließend noch ein bisschen Heimatkunde. Gegen Mittag wurde ich dann von einem Fahrer abgeholt, der mich wieder sicher zum Flughafen gebracht hat.
Diese drei Tage waren mit das Schönste was ich bisher erleben durfte.
Vielen Dank noch einmal an Ahmed, Hari, Daddy und seinem Team.
Alles war spitzenmäßig.
Nach einem weiteren sehr lustigen Abend (mit Gitarre und so... ) ging ich glücklich und erschöpft ins Bett.
Dritter Tag: Es gab ein ausgiebiges Frühstück, anschließend noch ein bisschen Heimatkunde. Gegen Mittag wurde ich dann von einem Fahrer abgeholt, der mich wieder sicher zum Flughafen gebracht hat.

Just a wonderful experience. Tour guides Amead and Anto were lovely - fun, attentive and knowledgeable. We saw lots of orangutans as well as other interesting wildlife. It was challenging hiking up and down hills at times and there were no mod cons in the jungle, but that was all part of the authentic experience. And Adi, the cook at the camps, somehow cooked up great feasts of food each day on his wooden stove, which kept us going very well. Just loved the whole experience. Would really highly recommend this local company.
