When we booked the snorkeling trip through the resort we specifically requested a guide person who is trained using the GoPro so he/she can take pictures and video of us snorkeling at Gili Statues and turtles. We agreed to pay extra for the service.
The guy who turned up together with the boat and driver said he borrowed the GoPro from his friend but assured us he knew how to use it.
When we get to the underwater statue site, the guide was reluctant to jump into the water with the go-pro. We found weird and concerning.
He finally he jumped in to the water, but I couldn't see him near me.
There were a hundred people snorkeling in that particular statue spot. I was bumped by another swimmer, swallowed water, and lost my mask. I also couldn't find the boat with so many in such a small area and they all look the same. I climbed into a different boat to ask for help.
Then at the turtle site, the guide gave the GoPro to my friend said my friend could take video with it if he saw a turtle which my friend did. However when we're back at our resort, the guide came with his friend and said nothing recorded on the GoPro. Basically blank, nada. He had not turned it on before handing it into the water. This is very disappointing after having swam right next to the turtle.
We asked for our money back since we paid extra for the guide to film us snorkeling with his GoPro.
We are still waiting for the "guide" and have not received our refund.

Hello there,
I am trying to clarify that this disappointment addressed to the snorkeling guide with his poor knowledge on using GoPro underwater camera.
Can you give me the guide's name?
Because we have many boat trips to handle daily and you made your own arrangement regarding the GoPro unit's involved.
