Amazing 3d2n experience!
(Too?) Hard for people of our age, but our guide Mariyo helped us trough the many difficult moment we had. Respect for the porters!!! These heroes are making your trip very special. Next time (we don't think so 😅) we would prepare ourselves better. Beautiful, unforgetable and very well organized!!! Mariyo and his Porters: 10 out of 10!

The 3-day (2 nights) Rinjani Trekking with You Trekking was really fantastic. My boyfriend and I were together. Our Guide was very kind, told us everything we wanted to know about Indonesia, Rinjani and Lombok. There was delicious cooking by the porters and the Guide. The tents, sleeping bag, mattress etc., were all fine. We recommend this trek 100% to everyone and especially to book with Jou Trekking!

Very nice company with excellent service. They do pick-up where ever you are on Lombok. There is plenty of food during the trip and the porters are excellent cooks. The day after the trip they drive you to your next destination! We recommend this company :)

What an unforgettable experience! We left with our Guide Adi who was at the top. We were a small group of 4 on the first day and then 2, with a ratio of one porter/person: we didn’t want anything! The food was succulent and varied, the equipment in very good condition. The second day was intense but Adi was able to motivate us until the end 💪 Thank you for everything, these moments will remain forever in our memory 🙏

We booked the 3 day trekking tour. What a great experience! Although we booked the group tour, we ended up with a private tour with a guide and two porters. The porters provided us with super delicious food. The water was a bit scarcely calculated (1.5 liters per person a day).
The tour was exhausting but quite feasible, certainly helpful if you already have some hiking experience. The view on the summit unbeatable!
For the piece from Basecamp to the summit, a walking stick is highly recommended (we could borrow for free from Jou).

First of all, our guide Rudi was one of the kindest persons we've ever met.
He supported us during the hike and gave us a lot of explanations concerning questions about the environment.
Second, a big thank to the 2 packers that transported our food, drinks etc. and always chose the most beautiful location for our tent aside of the main camp.
Third, the food was delicious, a big thank to the cook, you should definitely open a restaurant.
All in all, the most exhausting thing we've done in our lives, but also one of the most beautiful, thanks to the guide and packers we were with.
20 stars out of 10.

We had an amazing time with Jou Trekking! Very highly and enthusiastically recommend.
This company was founded by a former porter. Our guide Lim was also a former porter and a great guide. They know the mountain extremely well, and run a very smooth operation. They are very motivated to keep the mountain clean, and Lim went out of his way to pick up non biodegradable trash as we were hiking to protect the health of the animals and the mountain. Very eco-friendly.
Lim is very friendly and knowledgeable. We did the 3d/2n private trek with 3 friends in our early 30s with varying hiking ability ranging from avid hiker to novice. Lim did a great job accommodating to our different hiking speeds.
We did the initial ascent to the rim on day 1 and the sunrise hike on day 2 as planned; however the sunrise summit hike is extremely challenging even for avid hikers. I do recommend training for this because it was the hardest hike any of us had ever done, with a steep gravel hike at the end that took 1-2 hours (depending on hiking ability).
We did not have energy to go to the lake and hike up the second crater rim on day 2, so Lim and the porters gave us options for changing our route. The avid hiker went down to the lake/hot springs with Lim and came back up as a side trek, and the other two of us stayed at camp to rest. Then on day 3, we hiked back down to Sembalun the way we came.
Also of note, the porters are amazing. They hike up in advance and cook multiple course meals, set up your camp, and pack up everything after.
In addition to their packing list, I also recommend bringing wet wipes, hand sanitizer, and a handkerchief for dust.

There's not a lot I can say about the trip other than it was excellent. There's not a single thing I could improve for staying on the side and trekking up a volcano. The tents were just what you need and the food was excellent. Three meals a day plus snacks on breaks and all the water you need.
I have to say a special mention to Rudi and Silo our guides who were nothing short of exceptional. They were incredibly helpful with out tour giving support to each of us when we needed it as the trek is not for inexperienced walkers and really was a challenge at many points. They made sure our welfare was good and always had a smile on their faces.
I cant comment on other tours but you'd be hard pressed to find a better one that this. Well done Jou Trekking!

Totally recommend Jou trekking for the 3 days and 2 nights tour, but also every other tour available on their website. My guide Rudy, was excellent, he knows so many things and gave me so many information about the hike, which made my whole experience to be really fun. The food is incredible, I have never been so satisfied with mountain meals and they are cooked by the porter and the guide!!
Huge thanks to Su as well, who was in charge of moving the equipment around from campsite to campsite and helped make everything so convenient for me.

What an experience!! Me & my girlfriend decided to do the 3day trek, which turned out to be way harder than anticipated, luckily our guide Anton was very flexible and we could shorten the distance. Anton was a lovely guy who was always ready to help and allowed you to take your time if necessary. He answered every question we had and was a great help all the way to the top! The food, prepared by the porters was delicious every single time and way more than we could eat, no shortage there haha. In short: I'd recommend Jou Trekking to anyone.
