We had an incredible tour with an amazing guide who helped us explore the wildlife. We loved the elephants and saw so many of them, along with a variety of other animals and an abundance of birds. The experience was absolutely superb and truly unforgettable!

Trip was very well planned out by the Bentota Travel service team. The driver(ishan) who picked us up was on time to all destinations during the day long trip and very knowledgeable about the island. He drove us all day from destination to destination. The safari portion of the trip was good as well. We saw plenty of animals (birds, monkeys, crocs, buffalo, deer, elephants) and also plenty of other tourists. Very commercial park with a lot of human traffic. Buffet lunch was a true taste of Sri Lankan experience. Overall, thr trip was good, safari was not as "wild" as we hoped it would be. Trip was om Sunday, 29Dec.

Bentota Travel has a desrvedly good reputation. The organisation of the trip was exceptional, with great communication from Sam.
We arrived just after 6am due to some great driving from Irfan in the very comfortable car. This meant that we had almost four hours in the park & most of that on safari.
The jeep was driven by the most amazing young man, whose expertise in spotting wildlife was amazing. Birds, lizards, crocodiles, a mongoose could not escape his eye, even when well camouflaged. Just astonishing.
The milk session with the small elephants is charming.
Lunch was a buffet, although there was an option for menu. The food was lovely & plentiful.
Go the earliest you can so you catch the animals before the heat of the day.

We booked a safari day tour with Chooty in October 2024. He speaks super German and knows everything about Sri Lanka perfectly.

We were picked up by car from our hotel by Dinesh our driver for the day. The drive was interesting as we passed through many local towns and villages. Dinesh was knowledgable and pointed out things of interest on the way and answered our questions about his country. We then had the most fantastic few hours at Udawalawe National Park with our ranger guide where we saw many animals and birds in beautiful surroundings especially around the lake where we saw herd of elephants, crocodiles, eagles with monkeys on the hillside and a tree full of hanging bats which was unexpected! Our guide then took us on a side road where we got to be really close to a female herd of elephants with a baby who was lying at his Mum’s feet fast asleep - it was a beautiful sight. After the safari park we were taken for a lovely lunch at a local restaurant which was included and afterwards Dinesh took us to the baby elephant feeding station which was adorable. We would highly recommend this trip and our travel guides who were both friendly, knowledgeable and clearly loved showing us a little bit of their country

Highly recommend trip for Udawalawe Safari. Everything is included in the price and we got picked up from our hotel with no issues. Lunch was included. We picked the afternoon Safari and were lucky to see lots of elephants close to the Safari jeep. They did not seem bothered by us watching us and gave us a lovely display of throwing mud over themselves. Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and spotted the animals very easily. The water buffalo took a bath in the lake with quite a few alligators bathing in the sunshine. Overall a great Safari and highly recommend to book with Bentota Travel Mart which was an easy process and kept keeping us up to date throughout.

We booked our trip to Udawalawe Safari Park via Sam at Bentota Travel. From the outset his communication about the itinerary and pick up was fantastic. Dinesh was our driver and he was prompt and informative throughout our trip. Sampath took us through the safari park and was great at spotting all the different animals in the park, even down to the tiny chameleons and the parrot hiding in the tree. We saw plenty elephants which was why we booked this trip in the first place. We were surprised at how quickly we did spot them and how close up we got to seeing these magnificent creatures. After a lovely lunch we moved onto seeing the orphaned elephants being fed. We would 100% recommend booking this trip. We went on our wedding anniversary and it is certainly a day we will remember for evermore.

We had a wonderful experience on this trip for our honeymoon last month. Neither me or my wife had been on Safari before and we were blown away at such an amazing experience. Our driver Dinesh was early to greet us and was great throughout our trip, highlighting when we passed areas of note on the journey to the park.
On arrival, we were taken straight away on safari and we were not disappointed. Some fantastic scenes of the amazing elephants and other wildlife in the park. 3 hours flew by. Our driver was fantastic and always tried to get us some incredible up close views but was always careful to not be intrusive to them either.
On our return we were taken to have a nice lunch near the park before being taken to the Elephant Transit Home to see the orphaned elephants feeding which was another wonderful experience before our journey home.
One very tiny negative is just the time it takes to get to the park but it is well worth the journey. Going to one of the parks is a must if your in Sri Lanka for us and we had a wonderful time.

I couldn’t be more impressed with Sam and his team at Bentota Travel Mart. I originally called him from the UK prior to departure. He arranged a tour of Udawalawe national park with an overnight stay and saw the orphan Elephants being fed in the morning. We then wanted to go to a tea plantation, a temple, galle, turtle hatchery and the stilt fisherman and a Bentota river trip Sam completely tailor made our itinerary rather than trying to fit it all in a day. We actually did it over 3 at the same price. It was my birthday when we did the river trip and the boat was decorated and a birthday cake organised.
He answers WhatsApp messages almost immediately. We are coming back to Sri Lanka for Christmas and will be using Sam again
