My husband and I really enjoyed the cooking class. It was us and another couple also from the US. Sanju was very patient and did an excellent job of explaining the different spices and vegetables along with when to use them. We made 5 curries (pumpkin, mushroom, prawn, beet, and bean) along with a salad. Awesome family, highly recommend the cooking class.

This was a wonderful cooking experience from start to finish. Sanju and her family were incredibly welcoming and I learned a lot about Sri Lankan cuisine. We cooked mushroom, banana flower, prawns, potatoe (my favourite), radish and beetroot along with coconut salad. I learned some techniques about Sri Lankan food and am now confident to cook curry when I get home.
Afterwards I sat and ate what I could for around an hour. There is also a spice shop and restaurant in the same place as it is all in the same family.
I would highly recommend this class, it is outside in a lovely garden and was a very chilled yet informative cooking session.

Sanju is an excellent teacher and I thoroughly enjoyed spending the morning learning to cook a number of Sri Lankan Curries and fried dishes. She provided information on Sri Lankan traditional ingredients and cooking techniques. I would highly recommend taking a class with her!

We loved our cooking class with Sanju. Not just because the food was delicious, she really took time to explain all the spices and ingredients. Also you get to cook the base of the curry a few times, so it really gets into your brain and it’s easy to remember. It felt like learning cooking from a friend, which was beautiful. She also asked us before if there was something special we wanted to learn and now finally we know how to cook jackfruit :)

A definite must if you want to experience real Sri Lankan food. Sanju was a great teacher and very enthusiastic about sharing her love of traditional but healthy foods.
She introduced me to new foods and spices and how to cook them in traditional clay pots
A delicious lunch was produced and along with the recipe book, I can't wait to try these dishes when I get home

My wife and I had the best experience yesterday with Sanju's cooking class. Her and her family are the best, really friendly and the food was so good! The class came with a little recipe book to take home and make Sri Lankan food. Price was very reasonable.
11/10, would repeat for sure. If you have a few days in Galle, this is a must!

I like curry from Sri Lanka and visited from Japan. We are not very good at English, but it was easy to understand with a polite explanation.
