This class was absolutely amazing! Vina is friendly and hilarious, as well as a good cooking instructor. In addition, the dishes we made were delicious — better than any restaurant versions I have had, and vastly better than another cooking class we had done previously.
I would highly recommend this class to someone who wants to focus on learning the actual cuisine, ingredients, and cooking techniques in an intimate and personalized environment. The highlight of our trip to Hoi An!

Did a private cooking class choosing 4 dishes to cook. We started with a market tour to understand different products used in Vietnamese cuisine. I got a much better understanding of Asian herbs and vegetables that I can source back home in Australia. The food we cooked was truly authentic and I was hands on cooking the whole time. The food was delicious.
Vina was my teacher and what a pleasure she was to cook with. A very joyous person, very easy to understand and very funny. It didn't feel like any cooking class I've done before. It felt more like cooking at home with a close friend.
The cookery book/notes you get are easy to follow.
I highly recommend this company and especially Vina as your teacher. You won't be disappointed

Tasty times
ViNa was the perfect teacher and had me laughing during the course as she'd break out in song. The market trip was good where we saw all the very local.produce. Then back to cooking. Hands on step-by-step with a cook book to refer to. We did the seafood and chicken version which was just delicious! I enjoyed everything we cooked and can't wait to reproduce this menu at home

We booked this cooking class experience last minute - and cannot express how excellent it was. Our Host - Happy, was wonderful. She was professional, warm, friendly, very funny and most importantly very experienced in her cooking and teaching. I would highly recommend. Thanks again for such a great afternoon!! Something we will talk about for a long time, I’m sure. ‘Boyfriend Crush’ (once you have been you will understand why I wrote this) 😊😊

Had an incredible time learning so much about Vietnamese cooking which you can't get from a cookbook. Indeed, we are very lucky that the school is here and the chef teaching us has not only amazing skill and experience, her lovey and warm personality is also an added bonus. I recommend this to any one both home cooks and professional chefs to be able to learn more Indepth about Vietnamese cooking and techniques. Plus the dishes they teach can only be found here and nowhere else in other parts of Vietnam especially dishes from the central region of Vietnam.

We had a wonderful and immersive experience at Gioan Cooking school which included a hands-on purchasing of the herbs and other ingredients at the local Hoi An market. Following this we sat with Vina and prepared our choice of three dishes in a private class. The setting was clean and the food ended up being superb. Well worth the cost to try something so unique.

Highly recommend this excellent session and our excellent teacher! The day after we booked (while accommodating our schedule) we were picked up from our hotel, taken to a true local market, and our charming driver gave us all sorts of information about the various herbs and vegetables we would be using. Showing up at the school, Vina (I’m so sorry I’m spelling your name wrong!) got us set up. Although she was a complete professional - ensuring we were learning and paying attention - It wasn’t long before we were giggling and singing and joking. We had SO much fun and learned SO much, and considering it was only the two of us plus Vina, we made enough delicious food for a small army! She was so incredibly lovely that we would love to tuck her in our pocket and take her back to Canada. Thank you Vina!!

I loved everything about this cooking class. You can pick your own menu and the class is private, so you don't need to share any equipment, food or the instructor with anyone else. We were picked up promptly and visited the market where we tasted fresh herbs and admired the produce + got some gifts for friends and family (local chilli jam, lime and chilli sauce and other spices). Our guide was able to recommend the best products for us and helped to communicate with the sellers who did not speak English. Then we visited the cooking class. The chef (Vina) was so funny and easy going, we were immediately relaxed and excited to get started. She did just the right amount of prep for us so we still got the cooking experience, but did not need to spend time tediously peeling garlic or cutting the meat. The experience was smooth and really enjoyable. Vina told us a lot about the meals we were preparing, she also got really high quality produce (no cheap cuts!) and there was plenty of food to eat. The cooking class took around 2.5h and we enjoyed it so much. There was no rush to finish, we spent some time chatting and helping out with evening service (they also have a restaurant and the meals looked incredible - oh and I got a free mini cooking class for helping out too!). Unlike me, my partner initially just went along to the cooking class to keep me company as he'd not really into cooking, but Vina made him feel really confident in his skills and he ended up enjoying it so much. I would recommend this cooking class to anyone!

Totally enjoyable experience. Everything was well organised and we had a fun time preparing and cooking our food. A return visit and everything was just as good as our first time. Loved our food choices and the funny banter with our chef.
