We were completely amazed with this whole trip. The Cherish Travel and Tours team were super friendly and accommodating, on time and ran a very smoothly organized trip. Pick up, border transit, exchanges, etc. were all stress free and easy. The river cruise and game drive with Chobe Marina Lodge were both amazing, we got to see everything from crocodiles to lions to elephants. The buffet lunch at Chobe Safari Lodge was delicious. So so so happy with the whole day.

Wow, Chobe park crawls with elephants. There is a variety of birds to see. Lunch was great. The driver from Livingstone was right on time to pick me up.

This review is aimed at those people like me who are searching for information about safari trips from Livingstone, Zambia having centred themselves there to see Victoria Falls.
I found it really difficult to get recent favourable reviews that gave me confidence I was going to get a safari experience worth paying a lot of money for. Having now experienced it, you can get a ‘Game Drive’ in Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya) National Park for around $75. It is good and the highlight are the (Not so) White Rhinos… however it has no big cats and cannot compete with Chobi National Park in Botswana.
Fortunately Tripadvisor had sufficient positive reviews about Cherish Travel based in Livingstone. Being cynical, I was doubtful about whether I would get my $175 worth and as I was paying for four of us, it was an expensive day out.
Once I engaged with Jack at Cherish Travel by E mail, everything began to fall into place. As a consequence Emmanuel (God with us) met us at Livingstone Airport and proved to be the most reliable and informative driver for the next week.
A few days later Emmanuel picked us up at our hotel at 7am. It is just over an hour to the Botswana border whereupon you meet Cherish Travels Partners, Puku safari tours. Be prepared for some faffing about at the border and getting you to Chobi National Park, but just go with it.
We then met our guide John AKA King Cobra who took us on the game drive. As you have probably realised, safari wildlife doesn’t appear to order… but on KC’s tour you would have thought so - it began with lions feeding on a recent kill and just got better and better…
Lunch is provided at a very pleasant hotel… you might see the same Warthog we did trotting through the lobby…
This is followed by KC’s ‘River Cruise’: it is more like a navy assault craft, but instead of spraying bullets, KC is dousing his audience with humorously delivered fascinating facts. And he knows his birds - he carries the African Twitcher’s Bible, ‘Roberts’ and he only hesitated on one Harrier identification on the basis it might have been a juvenile… legend.

We saw a plethora of animals up close and the guides were very, very knowledgeable. Breaking the experience up into a boat tour and a land tour was ingenious because it was two distinct experiences for the price of one. There was plenty of water and drinks provided which helped a lot given the very hot weather. The included lunch was delicious - the oxtail literally fell off the bone! Finally, our driver from Livingstone to Chobe and back (Mwangelwa) went out of his way to explain the intricacies of Zambian culture to us, which added to the overall experience. Mwangelwa you’re amazing!

We did the Chobe dayrip and the Victoria falls trip with Cherish Travel and Tours. We also used them for transfers. They were great.
I would highly recommend them. We traveled with my dad that use a walker and my mon that had a knee replacement. They were very attentive to us and my parents. They adjusted to accommodate us because with my parents we were slower. Crossing borders is always painful,
they made it go smooth. When we go back. We will definitely use them again

All involved were very kind, and we could see they are well in sync. They quickly solved an issue with others in my group that forgot their passport, and put me in a different group. Both boat and game rides were great. Even if we didn’t get to see a lion, there were plenty of animals and great views.

Fantastic Safari! Wow what an experience. We were picked up from our hotel in Livingstone and taken to the Botswana boarder. All of the guides were very knowledgeable, helpful with customs, patient with us the clients. Drinks were freely available both morning and afternoon.
We definitely had the best guides. There were other safari groups but our boat or car always seemed to get closer to the animals without spooking them. I was supprised how close we were able to get. The food at lunch was delicious, private area and views of the river. We didn't see any big Cats but we saw lots of different animals!
The team was fantastic highly recommend booking with them!

DO NOT book this tour with Cheshire tours-our driver was late, did not wear a mask while driving and had numerous personal cell phone calls of which he answered two. Once arrived on the river boat to the Chobe park-the paperwork that was to be done by the tour operator was no where to be found and we waited almost an HOUR on the boat to have the proper documents taken care of. Lunch was to be provided and the order had not been placed and had to take time to make our choices. Once arrived at the designated lodge for lunch the food was inedible and we were seated in an area surrounded by bees. The tour of the park was wonderful (had to be shortened due to the paperwork snafu. Upon completion of the tour we had to ride in the bush jeep which was uncomfortable back to the border having witnessed other tours picking up their clients in a van which would have been much more comfortable.
To make matters even worse-I reached out to the tour operator about the poor organization and he expressed disappointment and thanked us for helping him educate his team for future tours. A refund (at the very least partial) was requested and he ignored an appropriate request as the monies paid did not go to a tour as advertised. If you are going to book a tour to Chobe-use Livingstone Adventures-MUCH more professional

Definitely recommend the day tour to Chobe!! We saw soooo many animals and almost managed to see all Big 5! The organisation was very professional and smooth. (just a shame that there were no local food choices available for lunch).
