Tony, our guide, paid attention to our requests for areas to tour, and then some. He took us to a smaller Geisha section of town than the one most people go to. There we went into a working tea room, met the proprietor, a charming fellow in his 80’s, who showed us around, explained what they do and made us tea.
Kanazawa castle and the adjoining Kenrokuen Garden, various shrines were visited on a beautiful day.
Tony provided tons of local knowledge and taught us how to navigate the bus system in Kanazawa. He also met us at our hotel, which is very important for first time travelers to a new place.

I think this experience will be one of our top memories in Japan. Ms. Nozomi Kondo was truly unbelievable - what an amazing person. So kind, so enthusiastic, and knew EVERYTHING. No matter what she was showing you you wanted to go down the rabbit hole with her. She truly loves Kanazawa and it shines through in everything she does. She will set the standard for every tour guide I use moving forward. Just an unbelievable experience.

We had the pleasure of Nozomi-san as our guide on a full day tour of Kanzawa. We visited Kenrokuen Gardens and the Geisha and Samurai Districts. Nozomi-san was a delight to be with. She had an extraordinary knowledge of all the locations and associated history and relevant folk tales. She spoke a flawless English and was worldly in a manner with which we easily related.
Kanazawa is not the most famous tourist spot in Japan, but it is to some extent a hidden gem and very worthy of visiting. After our tour we felt we would really welcome an opportunity to visit again and hopefully to meet with Nozomi-san again as well.

Our guide Nozomi combined a day and evening walk into an amazing experience. With so much to see and do, Nozomi made it possible to visit many amazing places. Her well informed commentary meant we didn’t just see the samurai and geisha districts, the gardens, parks, shrines and bridges, but we also learned about them and the history of Japan. We watched gold being turned into gold leaf (and how many people can claim to have seen both a gold and a platinum bathroom?). We enjoyed a marvellous lunch and delicious dinner, during which Naomi’s relaxed and friendly personality gave us the opportunity to discuss and explore all manner of topics. If you’ve come all the way to Japan, don’t miss this opportunity to see and learn more than most travellers.

Nozomi Kondo gave us a really superb guided tour. Spoke excellent English. Knew her subject perfectly. Amusing and bright personality. Went well over the allotted time to ensure we saw everything and then sent extra information by email for the next day and to help us with our travels.

What an amazing and immersive tour. Our guide, Nozomi, took us to the Geisha District, the Samurai District, the Omicho Fish Market, the Temple District, and a little zodiac buddhist temple we would of never found on our own. Nozomi had an in-depth knowledge of the city and really made the effort to give us an unique and unforgettable experiences. It was really well tailored to the types of things we wanted to see and do.
We would do it again in a heartbeat since we feel like we only scratched the surface of this beautiful city. This is a must-do tour in Kanazawa and I would highly recommend!

"Tony" was great. We didn't have much time to visite KANAZAWA and in one day, he showed us the main monuments and he explained us many things about the Japonese culture. We could'nt expect much. (In january, weather is cold and windy, be well-dressed...).

Our guide Nozomi was amazing! We did it all and much more. She filled us with knowledge about Kanazawa history and contemporary and historical Japanese lifestyle and culture. I would strongly recommend her for your tour she was a fantastic and our experience with her enhanced the rest of our trip through Japan.
