If you like guides who spend a lot of time awkwardly reading from written notes about what is in front of you instead of letting you see and photograph what you came to see, Yoshiro Hiroma is the guide for you. He also could not understand simple questions. While at the botanical gardens, we wasted a lot of time listening to info about dormant plants and then rushed through the beautiful orchids because “they are not from Japan.” The overlook, gardens and castle were great, we just needed to spend time appreciating them.

We sincerely apologize that your Kochi Full-Day Private Trip with a Government-Licensed Guide did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is extremely important to us, and we are truly sorry that the tour did not provide the experience you were hoping for.
We regret that the guiding style felt awkward and took away from your ability to fully appreciate and photograph the sights. Our goal is always to enhance our guests’ experiences, not to detract from them, and we are sorry that we fell short in this regard. Additionally, we deeply regret any communication difficulties you encountered, as well as the imbalance in time spent at different locations. The guide could not speak comprehendible English and did not know the city well. We had to use Google Maps to help him navigate and got lost. Terrible experience. Waste of a day of our vacation in Japan! Would never recommend this tour to anyone!

We were 2 couples and had a woderful experience with our guide, Nori. We managed to visit all the planned sites in our 6 hour day trip in Kochi.

Our guide, Kenji, was waiting with a smile and friendly greeting
Our tour stops in kochi were just right. Kenji did a wonderful job of explaining and describing everything. The castle steps were a little more than some of could handle so he found a place in the shade for those who didn’t want to climb and then took the rest of us to the top

We had a wonderful adventure in Kochi with Yoshiro. His knowledge of local and general Japanese history greatly enriched our experience as we visited Kochi Castle, the Kochi Castle Museum of History, Hirome Market, and beautiful Katsurahama. He addressed our specific interests, and even took the time to do additional research on the Yamauchi Clan and Ryoma Sakamoto. Yoshi's fun personality made our day both memorable and pleasurable—one of the best days that we had during our visit to Japan.

Beware of cancellation policy not as stated: I was on a cruise last month and had booked this tour through Viator with a group of 9. The port was canceled due to poor weather that caused low tide and the ship couldn't dock. The port was cancelled but not within the 24 hour time frame. JGA would not refund the money because they said it was not within 24 hours. Our group leader did contact them as soon as it was announced on ship to us. The information page states " This experience requires good weather. If it’s canceled due to poor weather, you’ll be offered a different date or a full refund." I am very upset and would not considering using them on the future. This was totally out of our control. It is not what I expect from such a big company.

Thank you for contacting us. Unfortunately, the information we have regarding the ship docking differs from what you have written. We check directly with the port when we have claims that a ship did not dock. Please be aware that other companies will check as well.

The tour was absolutely excellent. Yoshiro Hiroma is the most amazing guide. He was very prompt and kept us on schedule exactly as planned. Yoshi told us so much about what we were seeing and was very fun and considerate. We were amazed at his energy level and his commitment to showing us as much as possible. Thank you Yoshi for a wonderful day in Kochi

I’m really surprised that you praised me so much. It is thanks to you that I was able to handle the busy schedule smoothly. You guys were willing to talk to me. That’s why I was able to relax and talk freely.

Kochi was a city we knew next to nothing about. It is a port that doesn't get much recognition like say, Tokyo, Osaka and Kyoto may. Our guide Kosuke was excellent. He is personable, friendly and very accessible. He would email us several times in advance to ask what we wanted to see and do and then craft the perfect itinerary for what time we had to spend. He really made what we considered a "throwaway port" into one of the best times we had on our 12 day trip to Japan. He made sure that we saw all the important sites and gave us insight into each one. He also is a fabulous photographer! We would not hesitate to book his services again. He made our time there extremely memorable! Thanks Kosuke!

Thank you so much for the nicest and prompt review! I really enjoyed talking with
both of you during this tour. And I’m very happy that both of you enjoyed eating local foods,
such as “Katuo-no-tataki”, grilled bonito, baked eel, “Yakitori” and deer-fried sweet potato
outside in the downtown. I’m very happy that you enjoyed taking photos of my town. In the
future I want to talk with you about our memories while seeing your wonderful photos of my town.
But, I’m sorry that I couldn’t take you to beautiful rivers, mountains and gorges, because the schedule
was so tight. Next time you will visit my town with your twin children, I will surely take you to these
natural sights and I want you to enjoy joining outdoor sports in the wonderful and refreshing nature.
Now I miss both of you, but I will never forget our happy memories.
