This is a good place to see fireflies. The overall duration is just nice around 45 min.
We waited for the rain to stop before we joined the 9.30pm slot. Luckily, we get to see them which appeared like in the tree, twinkling brightly. The boat guide will let both sides of the passengers have close-up look at the fire flies. Some even flew to your hand. My mum who was near 80 enjoyed the trip tremendously. The fireflies park is very suitable for children and adults. I highly recommend this trip.

This is something that I was really looking for, for the 7 kids that were on this trip with us. Out of gadget, relaxing, mesmerizing and an unforgettable learning journey. We chose the 7:30PM trip as advised. Be early as you get on the boat following a first come first serve numbering system. Although the admin was single handedly mend by just 1 person, we managed to all get on the boat on time. The kids (plus the mothers) were amazed by twinkling fireflies. The breeze was so fresh and we managed to see thousands of fireflies within our 45mins journey. We ended the trip with wishing lanterns. WonderFUN wrap! PS: Just an advice to give the boat a fresh coat of paint as it is looking very tired. :)

FANTASTIC
BEST PLACE TO SEE FIREFLIES.
Most importantly, the operators are very very helpful. We booked for the 730pm boat but as we were running late, they allowed us to go onto the 830pm boat.
And while we were walking to the jetty, I dropped my Handphone into the swampy waters and I thought that it’s would be gone.
The operator told me to proceed with my boat trip while they will try to retrieve it.
I had very little hopes as the water was pretty deep.
When we returned , they actually miraculously managed to get my phone up but attaching 2 long bamboos and a net.
I was sooo grateful and wanted to offer a tip. They refused and just said it’s their job to make all customers leave with a positive experience. Soo heartwarming to know there are such tour operators around. Thank you very much. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

It was OK but I thought the fireflies will fly around you, a bit disappointed that it just sat on the tree. I guess the cartoon scenes raised my expectations too much. The fireflies did light up like a Christmas tree which is amazing!

The experience was wonderful. The ethereal atmosphere was very majestic. The transport arranged was very efficient and smooth — we managed to arrive slightly early. The boat captain was friendly and introduced us to new facts. Besides the countess fireflies which we had caught and released upon close contact, we also saw a few monitor lizards. Overall, this place is excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed the trip.

We visited Kota Tinggi Firefly Park on a Saturday evening. The boat rides depart at 7.30pm, 8.30pm and 9.30pm. The 7.30pm tour is supposed to be the best one for viewing the fireflies. (The fireflies get less active later into the night apparently). Tickets are RM20 for adults and RM12 for children.
We had previously been to the Desaru Firefly tour, and we thought that this was way better. For a start, the operator did not scoop water to splash onto the bushes where the fireflies were to drive them out, which I thought was pretty destructive. The fireflies were also easy to see from the boat, and they really did light up the trees like Christmas lights! It was very beautiful and the kids thoroughly enjoyed the 45-min ride in the boat.
Just take note that there would be some mosquitoes (you’re in the jungle/wild!), so you might want to wear long pants. (Insect repellent discouraged as the scent may also put off the fireflies). There’s a gift shop and the reception is just 100m from the main road, so it’s easy to get to if you drive!

A little hidden gem of an activity that we all really enjoyed. Plenty of fireflies to experience in the trees around the lake/river which we all enjoyed with the added bonus of monkeys and lizards sleeping in the trees too. A bit of a hike from our hotel in Johor but we felt it was worth it after the fun and memorable time we had. Good value too and well organized with decent life jackets and friendly skipper and staff.

The lighting conditions were excellent so I was able to see A LOT of fireflies. It's like seeing magical Christmas lights through the trees. The staff here are so amazing and kind and helpful. I'm a solo traveller so it can be hard to take pictures of myself but they offered and were just so welcoming and accommodating from the second I got there! Even pointing out fireflies from the boat when they were harder to see. Highly recommend. :D
I also recommend getting a wishing lantern (8RM) which you can release and a love lock (10RM) which you can lock onto the fence by the river.

A magical and beautiful place! A belated review, we visited Kota Tinggi Firefly park early in Jan this year and it has left such a deep impression. Making a booking online through Whatapps was easy and the host were friendly and helpful in assisting us with it.
The place was easy to locate via GPS, better if you can drive there or chartered a ride, it's about 45 mins drive from central JB. We were warmly welcomed as we reached, it's a cosy and simple park, boat ride was about 45 minutes if I remembered it right, a pleasant and tranquil trip into the mangroves where many beautiful cluster of firefly lived. It's as if time has stopped and you are transported into a mystical forest of glistering lights!
It's a very beautiful and magical sight, only cons were the sometimes overly-excited crowd (Inevitable I guess!) and the fuel smell from the boat, but apart from this, a beautiful park to visit if you're in Johor.
I thank the good people for doing such a good job maintaining this beautiful landscape, home to so many fireflies! (A vanishing sight in our overly polluted cityscape)
