Great to see

Fantastic jungle. But the trails Were over crowded and our tour group of 21 meant it was very hard to hear anything from the guide. Guide shared the absolute minimum information so I would not say enriching visit. Good if you want to look but not if you want to learn anything. There is an issue of plastic garbage everywhere, at low tide you can see the plastic caught up in the vegetation, lots around the buildings, and even watched the wild pigs eating it out front of the cafeteria. I wish I brought a bag to collect garbage as i feel tourists should contribute to the solution. Driver was good and company easy to communicate with. Lunch was satisfying.

Great to stay overnight

Just got back from an overnight stay.Alex our guide was amazing, very knowledgeable and considerate. Did some great short walks to enjoy probiscus , and other monkeys, insects, snakes, and really interesting plants. Would highly recommend

It's not the time.

To the P.N. Bako leaves to watch the proboscis monkeys, nothing more. In our case we didn't see any and the people in the park knew perfectly well that at this time it was almost impossible to see them. At no time had they prepared food for them to appear. It is not the right time, better to be honest and close the park and not cause disappointment and expense.

Querido señor, señora buen día Realmente lamentamos su decepción. No preparamos buffet de frutas para los animales del parque. Hacemos todo lo posible para minimizar el contacto humano y animal. Poder ver una vida silvestre alejada de los humanos es una buena indicación de que los animales no se han acostumbrado a nosotros (los humanos). Permítanos guiarlo en su próxima visita, venga a Sandakan, Sabah. Visite el Santuario del mono narigudo. Esperamos poder servirle nuevamente. atentamente, MH Team

Return to the origins. Surrounded by primeval nature and in search of the proboscis monkey.

We already knew that it was going to be difficult to find the proboscis monkeys. But we had crossed half the world to see them. We set ourselves the goal of not being too ambitious and enjoying every meter traveled. Jungle, mangroves, sea, rock formations...
We saw some proboscis monkeys from afar and among the vegetation. We must recognize that they are wild animals
Suddenly we ran into a male two meters away from us. eating leaves
It is not clear who was more surprised of the two.
My guide fulfilled his objective and we were able to fulfill our first objective in Borneo
A unique experience that no one should miss. By the way, there are no mosquitoes.

Querido señor, señora buen día El Parque Nacional Bako es un área protegida. Notar que un animal se aleja del humano es sin duda una buena señal. No hemos acostumbrado a los animales a nuestra presencia ni hemos creado un comportamiento habitual. Durante la temporada de verano, Recomendamos llevar consigo repelente de insectos. Estamos muy contentos de que haya disfrutado su recorrido. En su próximo viaje a Borneo, visite Sandakan, Sabah. recorre el Santuario de los Monos Probóscide, aquí deambulan libremente en un ambiente protegido. Esperamos poder servirle nuevamente. gracias MH Team

Great experience

We took a Grab from Kuching to the national park, which was no problem, and we also got one for the way back straight away. There were four of us on the crossing, so you can only go back with four people. We had booked 2 nights in a Forest Hostel. We were worried about the condition of the hostel because we had read the reports on Tripadvisor, but we were pleasantly surprised. The hostel we were in had probably been renovated, but there were no holes in the floor or much mold. We stayed in Forest Hostel A. There are 4 rooms with 4 beds and 2 women and 2 men showers and toilets for all 16 people. The rooms are very small and there are fly screens on the windows and a fan. It was also reasonably clean. The bed is covered with pillows and a fitted sheet, but I can't say whether this was fresh, I would recommend a hut sleeping bag. There is nothing to cover yourself with.
The tours are pretty strenuous, and it is definitely better to do them in the morning than in the afternoon.

Geachte heer mevrouw Goededag Het park is een leefgebied voor vele soorten planten, insecten en dieren. Er is gedocumenteerd dat er 150 soorten zijn geregistreerd die in dit park leven binnen het zeven voltooide ecosysteem. Met verschillende soorten flora is deze plek de thuisbasis van de bedreigde Proboscis Monkey. Waarneming van dieren in het wild hangt af van waar de dieren zich op het moment van de dag bevinden. Omdat ze mensen uit de weg gaan, wat aangeeft dat dit prestigieuze nationale park de activiteiten tussen mens en dier tot een minimum heeft beperkt. Neem de tijd om de Kinabatangan River Wildlife Cruise in Sandakan, Sabah, te bezoeken. Bedankt voor uw bezoek aan Bako National Park, dankzij uw bezoek kan het park tot vandaag in stand blijven.

Dear Respected Visitor Good Day Thank you for visiting Bako National Park. We always do our best to have no contact with the wild animals at Bako National Park. This is to preserve their natural habitat and minimum distance to prevent from encroaching their space. In due time it will result to reproduction naturally taking place and multiplying the wildlife residents of Bako National Park, this also included the nocturnal animals & invertebrates. Spotting them may be a little difficult as they shy away from humans. A good sign indicating they (animals ,wildlife) are not accustom to humans as a food dispenser.

Very good experience

Was good, nice guide, on time pickup. One thing not perfect was the duration , we were back at the hotel in Kuching around 15. But to be honest, we felt satisfied nonetheless.

Dear Sir , We are glad you enjoyed the tour. Highlights are the wildlife encounter but they are shy creatures because we have practice no hand-outs. I am not able to identify the tour date. Leaving early probably due to smaller group on tour. We look forward to serve you again on your next trip to Sarawak. Dear Sir , We are truly happy you have enjoyed the tour. Despite the scorching hot day , although shaded by canopy trees , it was humidity the whole day. Please in your next trip to Borneo , visit Kinabatangan River , Sukau in Sabah. Nature at it's best.

Fun day out in Bako Park

Went with Borneo Adventures and Lemon was our guide. Exciting speed boat ride to a beautiful beach and saw wild boar straight away. Then proboscis monkey, silver backs and macaques. Flying Lemurs (asleep), snakes and even a catfish. Includes lunch and pick up and return to your hotel. Around £70 each for 5-6 hours great fun.
