Fantastic tour as always from lost plate. I can never recommend them enough. Our guide Jane was fantastic and super considerate. Highlight of the night for us was the biang biang noodles but every spot was a winner!

Fantastic food tour in Xi’an with a great group of travellers! Our guide Ken was incredibly knowledgeable and explained the history of both the city, its people and the food!

Outstanding-- highly recommended. Coming from a western country we were interested in trying a variety of foods around China, each area with a distinct cuisine. We had already been on one Lost Plate food tour and thought it good. This one in Xian even outstripped the prior. Our guide Buren was extremely well informed, had a welcoming and fun attitude, and completely made the evening, just positively fantastic. Hospitality professionals should learn a thing or two from him. The overall atmosphere, the great learning experience, and of course the food made this tour more than worth it, and entirely a highlight of our multi-week trip around China. I would absolutely recommend the Lost Plate evening tour in Xian to family and friends.

It was dan excellent tour. Very nice guide named Ken and he explained a lot about Xi’an, told us a lot about China and we enjoyed the special restaurants and food. For us these restaurants would not be found without the guidance. Lots of different food types and very kind guide and tuktuk drivers! Thanks again Ken we had a wonderful evening with you!

It was a tasty and fun experience as a big family. Jane was our guide. She was amazing and she took us the local places. I would definetely recommend this tour.

We booked the Tuk Tuk tour through our China tour organiser, Audley Travel, and we were so happy that we did. The tour guide Deihl was young, knowledgeable and very enthusiastic and took us to 4 super local backstreet eateries we'd never have found ourselves. The food was great and our only regret was eating too much in the first 2 places so we couldn't do to be last 2 justice!The evening finished with a stop at local micro-brewery with a good choice of beers. We would certainly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Xi'an, but don't do as we did and go on your last night. Go on your first night so you can go back to a couple of the places you've discovered! One final thing;experiencing Xi'an backstreet traffic in a Tuk Tuk is guaranteed to raise your heart rate a few times during the night!

The food was fantastic at all of the restaurants that we visited, including cold noodles, kebabs, biangbiang noodles and a lot more. Buren was excellent as a guide, very informative and good company as well.
Whizzing around the streets in a tuk-tuk was also fun. Totally recommend this tour.

Excellent tour of the quarter. Buren is an exceptional guide; very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about Xian and its food. The choice of restaurants was very good and it was great to see the area by tuk tuk.

Book this tour - Our tour guide was Buren and he took us on tuk tuks around Xian and we tried foods we wouldn’t not have been able to discover. Buren sent us a list of all the foods and recommendations for places after the tour which was very helpful. Got to drink beer on the tuk Tuks and ended at a very nice brewery. Left feeling very full and all the food was very good! Thanks Buren, from Australia!

Tuk Tuk is a taxi used only in South East Asia, is it a real Tuk Tuk transportation or just borrowing the name? because to my knowledge, there is no 3 wheels motor taxi in China.

To me in Asia, they all have their own versions of Tuk Tuk’s, as yes it was a version of a motorised taxi similar to one I had taken in Thailand. Actually better as it was a closed in vehicle not open to the traffic fumes as the one in Bangkok I took.

The cost is $65usd per person. I am not sure if they will change the time. There is a breakfast tour that I believe is $55usd. For 5 people, they may arrange a tour around your schedule. You can contact them and ask on the Lost Plate website. We found that they were very good about responding quickly.

I agree with the other responders. There were meat dishes at each stop, but you may be able to arrange alternatives, especially if you book a private tour. The Xi'an tour with Rosemary was the highlight of our visit there. The Biang Biang noodles are not to be missed!!
