The Hangzhou Tour with Caroline is the best. We enjoy our tour very much. Caroline is very nice, very informative and a cheerful guide, so make our tour very enjoyable. Also the lunch that arranged by her is very delicious. Thank you Caroline, you are the best😍

We went through this tour company to get around Suzhou before deciding to book with them to go to Hangzhou as well. Alana the coordinator was really good at planning our entire trip from our hotel lobby's turnstill to Hangzhou and finally back again. Judy saw that we made it to our station gate, Wen wen found us despite us going rogue finding a bathroom upon arrival and our mysteriously quiet shanghai driver found me right as we walked back out through the shanghai station gate when we returned. I'm honestly still a little shocked it went so smoothly.
While we were a little sad we didn't get our previous guide Berlin, Wenwen was a Hangzhou local so she was also a wealth of knowledge on the local history, lifestyles, food, dialects, businesses, etc and we even got a chinese chengyu (idiom) lesson. Despite our last minute requests for our seats to be changed from 2nd to 1st class and changing our itinerary from going to the temple to buying food, especially taking into account that we did this trip on 31st Dec (New Year's Eve), the team did a really great job at efficient communication and remaining flexible the entire time.
We already recommended this company to my relatives visiting Shanghai after us. If you're planning a group trip and would like someone else to take the reins in planning for a day, this package is probably for you too.

Ms. Berlin was our tour guide who lived in Hangzhou during her college years. Not only did she know the local history and landmarks, she was also familiar with the local culture and cuisine.

Phenomenal tour! I don’t typically book through TripAdvisor but did for the private Hangzhou from Shanghai. Alana was the tour coordinator and she was fantastic. We even asked to change the date at the last minute because of bad weather and she was able to accommodate us which I know wasn’t easy as bullet train tickets were involved. Our tour guide was Caroline and she was fantastic! She is extremely knowledgeable and fun which made the day zip by so fast. We visited Westlake and she took us to all the best places and she is also a great photographer! Next we had a superb lunch! Some of the best food we have had on our trip! Next was the tea museum and then off to the temple which was amazing- a must not miss. Because we had later train tickets we had time to stop by He Fang Street which was delightful. We then headed back to the train station and then driven back to our hotel. A perfect day! Many thanks to Alana and Caroline!

Excellent day trip with our guide Snow, whom we had great rapport with and took excellent care of us - especially appreciated since I had my preggy wife and preschooler along with me. We were driven from our hotel to take the high speed rail from Hongqiao station to Hangzhou East station, and from there we had a fabulous time at the West Lake (Xihu), soaking in the remarkable scenery and chilling leisurely onboard the boat on the legendary and romantic West lake. Lunch was a sumptuous spread at Green Tea restaurant where we indulged in local Hangzhou delicacies, in particular dishes infused with the famous one-and-only OG Hangzhou Long Jing tea. The fish was fresh, chicken delicate and soup homely. 9.5/10 for the meal. We had some flexibility as we opted for less strenuous route and viewed a Longjing tea plantation before we were en route to Hefang Street and then back to Shanghai to beat the traffic. Train rides onboard the high speed rail were comfortable throughout and toilets were available in the cabins. Overall a perfect and enjoyable day trip that I would highly recommend! Especially with such a dedicated, knowledgeable and service focused guide like Snow. 💯

If you’re looking to explore Hangzhou, this is the best tour to book. Our tour guide, Caroline, met us at the Shanghai Rail station and we made our way over to Hangzhou together. We started by taking a boat ride on West Lake and exploring the gardens surrounding it. This was followed by a delicious lunch at an authentic restaurant. Afterwards exploring the Amanfuyan village was a great way to digest our lunch (Caroline was flexible and helped to build this request into our itinerary). Finally we saw the Lingyin Temple, which has stunning views and historical status of Budha. This tour is a fun way to explore Hangzhou, it’s very stress free. Your tour guide takes care of everything so you can enjoy the trip! Highly recommend this tour.

If you want to go see Hangzhou you have to do a tour. Metro is not convenient and taxis charge flat 100-200 RMB because of severe traffic. To see other sites besides West Lake you need to go with private tour. We had private van with AC. Carline was great and fluent in English. She gave amazing detailed historical background on all our sites and knew the best photo spots. Lunch was amazing. Probably the best meal I have had all week in the Shanghai area. I would choose this tour again!

Wenwen Guide was so friendly and passionately guided that we had an unforgettable experience in Hangzhou!
Hangzhou was a really beautiful city , and thanks to the detailed description from our source guide , we learned a lot about Hangzhou .
If the short schedule is not possible, the next opportunity will definitely be to visit Anjou again!

Xin was an excellent guide. She collected me from my hotel, guided me through the high speed train network and gave an informative tour through the city. The lake was stunning and the tea plantation was gorgeous. The temple was impressive and we had a delicious lunch. Xin then took me back to my Shanghai hotel. A highly recommended experience!

Hangzhou is a very beautiful city, i highly racommend it, Mr pan is a very expert, prepared and available guide, so i can say out loud that today’s tour was excellent.

If you are taking a private tour with Berlin, the Chinese guide from Viator; you are in for a treat. She is knowledgeable and courteous. I think the weather will be fine 58/72'F in October (Shanghai). You need a guide to help you with the labyrinth of Chinese bureaucracy. In the end, you will have a great time.

Our pick up was at 8.30 am and we probably got back to the hotel ardound 8.30 pm at night.. it depends on how far is your hotel from the train station. I think we got Back to Shanghai rail station around 8 pm.

We got picked up at 8:30 am (local time). Arriving back at our hotel at 8 pm. We left Hangzhou at 6 pm. Bullet train ride takes about an hour. Then another hour to get back to our hotel in Pudong area due to traffic.

Hi, if you look them up in Trip advisor, you will see all the trips they offer and the Hangzhou trip by bullet train is one of them. I dont know if they have a website, but definitely they are on trip advisor. Check it out and let me know .

Since this is a private tour,I believe the price depends on the number of people in your group. For a group of 6, we paid $131 per person. It may be a bit more for your group of 3. In TripAdvisor, you can click on book and provide the number of travellers, it will provide you a qoute. Hope this helps.
