北国の冬の動物園は白一色でとてもきれい

有名なペンギンのお散歩は、本当に楽しいイベント。2日続けて見に行きましたが、そのおかげでベストポジションで楽しめました。
シロクマは寒さのせいで、テンションが高く、特に子熊のゆめちゃんのはしゃぎっぷりがすごくて、時間の経つのを忘れました。

Love the tour
The ride is comfortable and the itinerary is perfect covering the zoo, blue pond and waterfall. Staff is polite. There is some English covering rules and time to get on the bus again

Asahiyama Zoo, Fascinating Aoi-Ike Light Up and Shirohige Falls in Winter

This is a 12 hour trip, but worth it. It says English speaking guide, but he did not speak a word of English, he just held up paper with what to do in English. If you go in December/January make sure you rug up as it can be very cold at the zoo like -8 etc. Over all we enjoyed the trip. They pick you up from your accommodation, but they don't drop you back there, which was very strange, we had to walk back late at night.

WORST experience ever
2022年12月
TLDR:
1. A completely waste of one day.
2. Car crash (luckily seems like no one hurts), delayed us by 3 hours. We missed the zoo.
3. Super bad time arrangement and schedule after the crash.
4. Aoi-Ike Blud Pond has nothing to see in Dec.
5. Basically no English support while half of the group don't speak Japenese.

Here is the story:
1. We are in our honeymoon and this is the last day of our stay in Hokkaido. This trip was listed as English friendly while the guide barely speaks any English.
2. The tour starts super late (we departure at around 10.30 while usually it's already dark at 4pm in Hokkaido)
3. The reckless driver hits another car (luckily no one hurts) We have to wait there for 2 hours.
4. Then the tour guide could have just let us leave the tour and we'd still have time to see other attractions. However, the tour guide took us to Asahikawa for another 1 hour, only to tell us that we'd miss the zoo. "You guys either continue to other attractions or take another bus back for 2 hours". Basically at this point, we wasted our entire day in a bus and we had nothing else to do. The zoo was supposed to be the key part of the trip.
5. Normally I'd understand it if it's for bad weather conditions. However, this worst experience is only caused by reckless driving, poop schedule, poor time management and risk handlings.

Much recommended

Guide was informative and cheerful. Timings for shows in the zoo were clearly stated. The illumination was absolutely beautiful but do layer up because the temperatures at the blue pond and shirihage waterfalls are freezing. Definitely easier to get to the places using a tour bus.

Hi, thank you for the comment! We are glad you joined this tour and had a good time hopefully! It could be fun to spend such a day in winter's Hokkaido, and to see it in a silver world. Yes weather at the moment can be cold around -5℃ to -10℃, so it is recommended to prepare winter gears for traveling in Hokkaido. Many thanks again for your feedback!

Fun day out at the zoo and beautiful Aoi Ike

The charter was on time, and had sufficient rest stops along the way (it's a long trip there and back). There is a dinner meal option available on the bus if you want.

I made friends on the bus, and the zoo was quite fun as there were alot of close encounters available with the animals. The tour staff speak some English if you require, but the locations speak for themselves.

Aoi-Ike is just like the pictures show. Shirohige Falls is a short stop, as you can view it from a bridge. Make sure you're wearing snowshoes for winter as everywhere will be covered in snow and ice.

The stops in the tour are really the iconic spots in Hokkaido, and are signified with snow view especially in winter. Fascinating visit during winter

We visited the Asahiysma zoo. Our first time in a winter place and did not expect to see so many animals outdoor. A nicely designed zoo, worth the visit. We drove quite a distance finally reached the destination to see the Aoi-Ike Light up. The blue light for the pond was very nice but it wad too cold for us in the night. We reached there around 7.30pm.

Temperature of Aoi-Ike area can be around -5℃ to -10℃ when it gets really cold! Please let us know if you need other information for the trip in the future.
