Nice trip!!! They tell hidden gems in Gion that fascinated me. I love the macha ceremony. Surprisingly the macha was delicious!!! The maiko??? What a beautifull lady. I am happy with the selfie.

Guide Kenji Matsuyama was excellent and knowledgeable in the food, temples and local area. Enjoyed the walking tour and great amount of food.

The tour was just OK. Disappointing if I’m honest.
The tour was a confusing mixture of activities. While it was framed as a food tour, I honestly learned very little about the food from the guide. While we did stop at 5 locations for food and he did describe what we were eating or drinking, the tour was unengaging and our guide seemed a bit uncertain. There were long stretches of time that we just aimlessly wandered around the market with the guide saying very little. I felt like we could’ve just wandered on our own and achieved a similar outcome.
Comparing to a food tour taken in Tokyo, it was night and day. While our guide for the market was very nice and thoughtful, he didn’t add any stories, personal examples or experiences and if it wasn’t in a flowchart in the guidebook, it wasn’t really talked about.
Looking back, $100 per person was an expensive 3 hr, aimless walk about the market. I would not recommend.

Tour was super fun, tasty, and intriguing.
We tasted various delicious and special Japanese traditional foods we never would have gotten to if it wasn’t for the tour, had the opportunity to learn about the history and tradition, and also the tour was well planned in terms of resting points, toilets etc. Our guide Akihito was charming and knowledgeable. Highly recommended!

Saeko was super sweet and friendly. She was patient with us and knew a lot about the area. We are a family group. She knew lots about the different food offerings and ingredients to popular dishes.

Wherever I go, I always try to visit local markets. Because food is one of the best examples to get to know the local life and culture. If you like to know about Kyoto and Japanese food, I think Nishiki Market is definitely your destination. You can try all sorts of local food here. The advantage of joining a guided tour is you can ask any questions about the food you have never seen before or had before.
I had an amazing guided 4-hour tour with #Japan Wonder Travel. The guide was a very friendly lady with full of knowledge.
Since it was a small group, I got on well with other tour guests and had a great time. We walked together, ate tasty food together, and laughed together!

It was so fun and interesting! We tasted many kinds of foods and drinks.
In Nishiki Market you will find colourful and tasty food, with interesting textures. I recommend to go with your stomach empty to enjoy all the flavors!
Ellie, our guide, was fun and told us about the history of the places we visited. I loved the last point of the route, the restored school, where we enjoyed an iced coffee and chocolates.
I also appreciate that Ellie considered me as a vegetarian tourist. It could be hard to be vegetarian in Japan, but I tasted many foods I didn't know they existed. Nice experience. Thank you so much.

Hi, we would like to book this tour for tomorrow, Sunday Oct 6. The booking ideas possible on this platform. But we double checked the time table and it say a Sunday and Wednesday is off. Please advise.

Is this tour suitable for a vegetarian? Even if I won't be able to eat everything, will there be some vegetarian foods to try?

Obviously options will be limited as a vegetarian, but there's tofu, sweet potato etc. often available.
Vegans, gluten-free, or those with allergies would have issues, as the tour tries foods from many different stall holders, and their awareness of these issues would vary.
