This is an interesting tour providing insight into the history of Paraty. The guide spoke good English and was easy to follow and understand. The only criticism was that there was no tour in English during the day and doing the tour in the dark meant we missed some of the exquisite detail of the buildings

Vale muito a pena fazer este passeio guiado pelas ruas do centro histórico de Paraty. Fizemos no fim da tarde. Foi super interessante.

O guia Gabriel foi muito atencioso e trouxe diversas curiosidades além do conteúdo histórico. Ele respondeu a todas as minhas dúvidas com muita paciência! O passeio durou exatamente duas horas e a sensação é de que poderia ter durado mais, pois foi realmente muito interessante passear pela cidade e ouvir as histórias. Foi uma experiência muito bacana!

Os guias Michael e Rodrigo são simpáticos e conhecem bastante a cidade. Trazem curiosidades interessantes ao longo do passeio. O Michael é bem calmo e o Rodrigo mais extrovertido. Ambos são ótimos para guiar. Recomendo fazer o city tour quando chegar, para aproveitar e pegar dicas com eles, recomendações de restaurantes e etc.

We took the English version of the tour with Harry. He speaks excellent English and provided us with a wealth of information about the history, background architecture and culture of Pararty and Brazil.
It would have been nice to have entered some of the churches (although I am not sure if that was possible).

My tour guide was Michael, and he was fantastic. A thorough knowledge of local Paraty matters, history, architecture and -no less important- local culture and social aspects. I learned a lot in two hours. Fluent (native) english and portuguese spoken too.
Michael did his best to provide me with insight in how local things evolved in time, and how Paraty and Brazil were shaped throughout the years, structurally (local architecture), historically and socially.
A great tour for smart people who are after some real insight.
I highly recommend this tour with no hesitation.

1) My husband and I are interested in the 2 hr walking tour when we're in port on Sunday Feb. 16, 2020. But we're in port 8 to 6. Do you offer it during the morning? There might be a few other couples interested, too. 2) Or, I was looking at a custom tour, with waterfalls maybe the fort, but NOT in a 4x4 as my husband's back would hurt or he would get motion sickness! Is it possible to combine walking tour of town with a brief trip to waterfall and maybe fort? Again, I could probably find a few other couples on our ship who are interested.
