Montenegro is nice, especially Kotor. City walls there are a must see, prices are simmilar to Dubrovnik.

Where to start… We were kept waiting for 20 minutes after the scheduled pick up time and when the van eventually turned up, we weren’t given any apology, but the tour guide Ivan demanding our passports.
We then proceeded to head to Montenegro, thinking our ‘tour guide’ would be giving us information about all of the beautiful sights we were passing along the coast. But no, he started with his hate speech which included racism, sexism and all other forms of discrimination, under the guise of unique insight that you wouldn’t receive on other tours. He referred to this as ‘political incorrectness’, which doesn’t even start to cover it.
I’m not going to go into detail about the discrimination that Ivan presented us with that day as I do not believe it is to be repeated. I was extremely uncomfortable for the duration of our trip, which is a shame because Montenegro itself was beautiful.
The trip only got worse as it went on, we were dumped at each location with no information or advice as to where to go or what to do.
When we made our way to Budva, we parked in a random, building site (car park?) away from the centre and told to reconvene at 3:30. We had a lovely lunch and swim at this stunning location, which I definitely recommend to visit but these locations are the only redeeming features of this ‘tour’. We headed back to this ‘car park’ but managed to miss the turn due to lack of signage. Unbeknown to us at the time, in the 1 minute between the meeting time and us arriving at the meeting point, Ivan had been willing to leave us here in Budva. But thanks to the other people on our tour, who had to convince this arrogant man that this was unacceptable, he waited for us.
On the way back to Dubrovnik, Ivan requested that he could drop one passenger off a little further out (suggested a road or two up) than her accommodation as it is difficult to get to (near Old Town). They then attempted to drop her off around 15 minutes away from her accommodation, which is unacceptable given that pick-up and drop-off is advertised. Ivan proceeded to suggest that delay in the other passengers drop off was due to this passenger being inflexible in drop off when they requested to be taken closer to their accommodation.
All in all, despite Kotor and Budva being beautiful places and well worth visiting, this tour was completely ruined by the unfortunate allocation of Ivan as our guide.

Well, where to start with this one. At 7am we stood outside our hotel and eagerly anticipated what our ride was going to look like, would it be a run down coach with no air con and 40 others? We were delighted when Marco pulled up in a mini van with banging A/C and a couple of Aussies for company. We then collected the last 2 couples, a pair from Columbia and 2 more Aussies just for good measure. We slipped through the first two border patrols like jelly through a net and boom we were in Montenegro. After a couple unforeseen issues like the road being on fire, Marco was quick to detour us across the bay on the ferry. We stopped in Portonovi and had a nice breakfast & walk around the expensive designer shops admiring the non local super yachts glistening in the sunshine. Without a hitch we jumped back in the mini van & we pressed ahead with our adventure onto Kotor where we enjoyed 3 hours of mooching around the gorgeous old city, some chose to scale the heights of the mountain up to the fortress. I personally enjoyed looking at the photo the Aussie obtained of his view from his treacherous climb than I would have doing it myself so this was ideal.
3 hours passed in a jiffy & we rendezvoused back at the mini van & onwards we went. Because of our detour Marco didn’t want us to miss out on any photo ops so we took the route back that we had intended on travelling in the first place now that the road was no longer on fire. We stopped off with our iPhone cameras at the ready and took in the spectacular view, we even managed to witness a wedding ceremony. How magical. Our destinations all complete we were bound for home. Hoping we would grease through the borders like last time we were all filled with optimism; almost a smugness you could say. After reading so many reviews about the long delays people were facing at the borders we were feeling superior, special that this was not a fate meant for us.
How wrong we were.
Returning back to our first border extended a queue that would rival Primark at the Boxing Day sales. We decided we would do a 360 and head to the bigger border crossing where we knew they’d have two lanes not just one open. Several long miles later we found ourselves in the same situation, a long queue going no where. I might add that Marco let us stop at every patrol station our hearts desired. Aussie in the front was kind enough to furnish the whole crew with mars bars and toblerones - we loved him but we had decided it was time for something stronger and we all ventured in for some hard liquor. Marco used his contacts to suss out that our dilemma presented us with two options. We could sit for 2 hours to cross at this border or we could take a trip through the mountains into Bosnia, so essentially go from Montenegro through Bosnia and down into Croatia from the north. This seemed like a lesser of two evils because we hoped we would at least be moving. So Columbia, Australia, Britain took a democratic vote and concluded it would indeed be faster to visit a whole new country and cross an additional two borders to get back to Dubrovnik.
It hadn’t rained in over 2 months our airport transfer told us as we arrived on our first day in Croatia.
Through the mountains we went and despite a slip of the clutch almost careering us into the border patrol station cabin we were out of Montenegro and this is where Marcos epic play list really started to come into its own. It had been a long day, probably 12 hours by this point but we took it in turns to sing loudly & out of tune and the wine and beers were pushing our once strange & timid polite talk into hilarity & dark humour. Something we all needed at this point. Driving out of the other side and into Bosnia we were minding our own business when a cow from out of nowhere wandered onto the road as if it had been waiting for us for hours before it finally made its suicide attempt on our misfit group of mini van adventurers. Marco Schumacher was having none of this and expertly applied the brakes allowing the suicide cow to live another day. Through the winding roads we continued when the long awaited rainfall began. Not just rain though, a thunder & lightening storm in the dark, on the empty mountains at night time through Bosnia. We did manage to see the most spectacular sunset though. After battling fires in roads, border patrol crossing of which we counter 7 in the end, suicide cows, Pringles for dinner, freak weather & many pit stops we were back in Dubrovnik. Our journey was almost done but we made sure the final stretch of our tour around the walls of the old town was one to remember. With inappropriate banter and side splitting jokes we all said our goodbyes. It was a 14 hour day that did not go to plan but the most fun we have had on a tour ever. Marco you are a legend and to our other mini van friends we thank you for your good company.

We purchased this trip from a stand in the old town, located on Ulica od Puča, a street parallel to Stradun, the main street. We were told that there will be three stops: a short stop in Perast, then the main ones in Kotor and Budva.
The trip took place on 04.07.2022
Pick-up from the hotel was OK, the car, a mini van, came on time.
On the route to through Dubrovnik, the guide, a young guy (Anton, if I remember correctly) also got into the car. He spoke English well, but he turned out to have a rather disturbing verbal tic: every 3 words he puts the expression "you know". We heard thousands of "you know" during the trip. But the biggest problem is that our guide (who upon climbing had confessed to us that it was only his second trip as a guide) completely forgot about the stop in Perast. He apologized profusely, but what's the use...we went non-stop to Kotor, with numb legs and a less visited city.

**Background:**
We saw the reviews for this trip and were a bit hesitant at first as they contained very differing opinions. Also, having had a fairly poor day trip elsewhere during the week with another company, we really were considering staying local to Dubrovnik for the rest of our stay.
Nevertheless, we enquired with LEA in their Lapad office by the beach and considered going ahead to book this trip as we wanted to see Montenegro and decide whether we'd book a future holiday there.
**Decision to go:**
After re-reading the reviews, this 'Marco' chap that everyone was raving about played on our minds and we really wanted this experience. We were delighted when he showed up, shook my hand and introduced himself.
Our experience:
Marco was an incredibly accommodating tour guide to all passengers, who made everyone feel very comfortable in a fairly diverse group. A very calm and pleasant driver who made the journey very informative to be honest, it was just like a private experience. He is happy to answer questions on the journey and is a fantastic guide to converse with.
Unlike our previous trips with other companies, the border crossings were quick and low fuss, the journey was smooth and safe, the scenery was absolutely stunning and his recommendations and information for the group once we arrived at our destinations were really helpful.
**What we did on the trip:**
Specifically, we were first taken to a spot that resembles a Norwegian Fjord with an Adriatic twist, where we were treated to a fantastic view of 'Our Lady of The Rocks' whilst enjoying a Coffee on a wonderful restaurant terrace (45mins~). We continued our journey to Kotor where we could either climb to the top of a hill to capture another incredible view or walk around the area and enjoy some delicious local food (1.5hrs~). We then took a coastal tour back in the minibus around the coast and finished our trip visiting Budva. The restaurant that Marco recommends to eat at is absolutely fantastic and very generous with portions. A walk through the old town is truly worth it, what a stunning place (2hrs~). On the way back to Croatia, we took a shortcut on a vehicle carrier over the water which was a really fun experience.
I strongly recommend this tour and especially Marco, our tour guide who absolutely made this trip and solidified our decision to visit Montenegro again on another holiday. The rest of the positive reviews mentioning him make no exaggeration and the man deserves a pay rise, something we did mention to his manager the next day!
Thanks Marco,
Steve & Olivia - British Couple in the front seat who tipped the Montenegrin waiter with Croatian Kuna...

Had an amazing experience on the day tour to Montenegro with our wonderful driver Marko. It was the perfect way to easily explore another country while staying in Dubrovnik, with incredible views, and Marko made it a fantastic experience! His english was immaculate and he spoke as if he was a native English speaker. He made us feel very relaxed and comfortable the whole time while touring the beautiful country. This tour with Marko is a must-do for anyone visiting the region - truly exceptional.

We booked this trip in the office in the Old Town and were informed by the booker that we would be able to take a boat trip to Our Lady of the Rocks. This is why we chose the Lea Travel trip as we specifically wanted to do this. Firstly, the minibus was in poor condition, the air conditioning wasn't working (holes in the roof masquerading as air conditioning units!) and my seat belt was broken. The driver then stopped to fill up with diesel - shouldn't this have been done before picking up passengers?! After visiting Kotor we made our way to Budva with no mention of visiting Our Lady of the Rocks. We, together with several other passengers, asked when this would be happening as we had all been promised this was part of the excursion (specifically, we would have time to take a boat trip and pay for it ourselves). Imagine our dismay when the guide said "we don't do this anymore" - we'd only booked it a couple of days before! We feel we were missold - Our Lady of the Rocks is the most iconic image of Montenegro and the main reason we booked the trip. It seems bizarre to Travel round the Bay of Kotor and not even stop for a photograph! Shameful misselling and I would not use this agency again

This was an amazing experience with our Driver (Marko!) He had a great personality and had such a pleasant demeanor. He was very informative and was able to answer my questions on facts of both Dubrovnik and Montenegro. He was an efficient driver and made stops to let passengers take toilette and coffee breaks. I would definitely do another ride with him if we had more time in Dubrovnik. He gave me a five star experience. Everything went smoothly and he even gave us restaurant recommendations. This was a highlight tour to my journey of the Adriatic. We also had booked a tour with Lea travel and had a great experience to 3 islands leaving from Lapad (Kolocep, Sipan, and Lopud) which was also a fantastic experience.
