awesome and delicious experience with prashant

I was intrigued but nervous to try street food so decided to give this tour a try.
This was one of the most memorable parts of my three weeks in INDIA.
Prashant was lovely but also so fun and the whole group enjoyed his company immensely. The food places ranged from really cool little restaurants to street vendors.
Tasty food and mouth watering range of sweets.
I feel this experience was well curated and could not fault it.
I would like to add that Prashant was one of the nicest people I met while in India and I could feel the passion and love he had for his job.

Wonderful culture experience

Eshita took us to her family home where we helped cook a range of food with her family. My wife and I very much enjoyed the opportunity to go into a family home on our first day in India. It was great to meet other members of the family and get an insite into family life, values and many of the traditions.

Shristi was wonderful

We did the Home Cooked Delhi tour through Urban Adventures Fri 11/8/19. Our guide Shristi was informative and sweet, and very enthusiastic. She made sure we had a good time. Babita's home was lovely and welcoming, and she made us some memorable dishes in her beautiful kitchen. Getting to meet the Delhi Urban Adventures administrator (sorry, her name escapes me) was a nice plus, because she had been very helpful the previous day in getting us set up with a private tour guide for Delhi (Prashant, who was also wonderful). Overall, a great experience!

One of the best travel experiences I can remember

Going to Eshita's home, meeting her parents and brother, was very special indeed. They made me so welcome. I watched and helped (a little!) as they cooked for me including the best masala chai I've had, pakora, soya matter paneer, jeera aloo, and a completely different way of cooking rice. I learnt so much about the family's way of life, work, weddings, background and culture which has really helped me to understand India. This is a day I shall never forget, and felt I had made real friends. I can't recommend this tour highly enough.

A Lovely Cultural Experience

I had a fantastic day out doing both the Cultural Family Experience and the Food Tour. Both the guides Sanjeeta and Eshita were wonderful and very knowledgeable. I’d recommend both these tours to everyone!

Wonderful Indian Hospitality

We booked the Intrepid Urban Adventures Private tour Home Cooked Experience as our first activity on arriving in Delhi, prior to joining our tour group. Our guide Barkha was warm and friendly as she steered us through the whole evening's experience. Our host greeted us in the traditional way and we sat down in the small living room. She demonstrated the cooking of the various dishes and explained all the ingredients. In the process we had the opportunity to ask many questions about Indian traditions and family life which our host and Barkha both answered openly. We were shown through a family wedding album, which served as a prop to describe the traditional wedding customs. It was a fascinating glimpse into everyday life and a wonderful introduction to the country. Highly recommended. The only draw-back was the location of the activity - a long way out of town necessitating an hour and a quarter drive there and back in busy traffic.

We had the best day! Much more than tourism!

We moved to Delhi a few months ago, but despite our love of food we've always struggled with making Indian food at home, the spice blend is so different from what we are used to and the task felt a bit daunting.
All of this changed when we met Komal and Barkha for this fantastic experience! We assisted Komal as she prepared a real feast in a surprisingly efficient and hassle free way, and we listened to India's food tales over tea and home made pakora still hot from the pan!
We loved every minute of this experience which brings you miles away from the conventional tourist tracks, and we absolutely recommend it.
You will leave with the warm feeling of having made new friends, and with a wealth of knowledge that you will want to put into practice at home.
Thanks a million Komal, Barkha and Delhi Urban Adventures!

Home cooked and whole hearted!

our family of 4 were welcomed by Komal into her family home for a cooking lesson and dinner, but we go so much more. Komal is so open and sharing that we felt that she gave us so much more than cooking and eating. We know more about regular family life in Delhi; their highlights and how things work day to day. We were shown not only how to add spice to the meal, but how locals spice their lives.
An incredibly memorable evening. We have been cooking and enjoying the meals we learnt upon our return which relives our wonderful time with Komal.
