I had the opportunity to visit Mumbai several times during the last three past years (last was in january 2020).I have tried a lot of Guides. None is more eficient, more kind, more open minded and more competent than Kishore Khare.
Kishore speaks fluently english. He knows remarkably his city and he likes speaking about it. It is a passion for him.
Kishore is the Prabaker's brother, one of the famous hero of the book "Shantaram". This is the reason why his Tour Company is called "Shantaram". Kishore is the boss of Shantaram Tour. He works with his son as an associate; Both are very competent and keen to make an acurate and coloured description of their city. Kishore has an extraordinary rich experience as a Guide, as a Taxi driver and as a Tour Manager.
He is capable to organise on short notice a wonderful visit of Mumbai: Indiana Gate, Slums (Colaba or Dharavi), Malabar Hill, Portuguese Quarter, Crowford Market, Chor Bazar, Lunch Boxes at Church Gate, Baganta Tank, Walkeshar Temple, Pinjrapole (cow shelter), Marine Drive, Chopatty Beach, Juhu Beach...etc
What is exceptionnal with Kishore is that he is not just the kind of Guide who drops you at a place then stays in his car during your visit. He comes along with you all the time you wish and has a lot of stories to tell about Mumbai, about India, about the indian society, about the history and the political life in his country. He is captivating. Everywhere you go, in the most popular cafes or restaurant he is greeted. With Kishore Khare you are not just a customer or a tourist among the others. You are a Guest. He likes speaking and exchanging with his guests. His main objective is that his guests keep the best memory of Mumbai. He is not business oriented and consider friendship as a pivotal quality. Kishore Khare is an exceptionnal guide, very competent with a big heart and tremendous human qualities.
