The alleyway food your is a must do while in Kolkata. Soham Was an amazing tour guide and very knowledgeable! The food was super delicious. Walking through the back alleys and experiencing the vast history of the city was great. Such a great experience

Our Tour Guide Soham was amazing. It is one of the best food tours I have been to. Soham not only gives you a takes of the food, but also stories behind each restraurant. The taste of mutton Kosha, the devil, Kaathi Roll interwinded with stories made it all the way more special.

A perfect evening in Calcutta with Soham as our guide. The route covered Calcutta’s best-loved food stalls, with a delicious and fascinating mix of savory and sweet bites. Even better was listening to Soham’s stories of Calcutta’s rich history told through the lens of the treats we savored. Add in the secret stops like the one above Calcutta’s “Times Square” and it was a truly unforgettable experience. We loved the company of our fellow traveler too. Don’t miss Soham’s Calcutta Capsule tours, and consider a stay at his family’s “Owl’s Nest” bnb in the same great neighborhood.

What a fantastic time!
A whole bunch of energy and good vibes from Soham. A super interesting and informative wander through back alleys and local North Kolkata street stalls with some fun twists and turns on the way. I ate myself silly and enjoyed everything.
I was also lucky to have a cool group on the night!
Thanks to hanging out with Soham the frenetic streets of Kolkata have taken on a more relaxed tone in my eyes and a few of those interesting sidewalk street food offerings are far less intimidating.

This is the second tour I do with Calcuttacapsule, and after that I had the same wonderfull feeling of satisfaction than when I finished the first tour (Magic Hour). Very very recommendable experience to everyone who visit Calcutta.

We had a great and delicious evening exploring a North Calcutta with Soham. Soham is an excellent guide to who provides you with a great local experience. I highly recommend this tour, come hungry! There’s a lot of food stops!!

I very much enjoyed the Alleyway Food Tour. Soham was an amazing host and has true passion for what he does. I liked that interesting stories about the history and traditions of the area were included. The amount out food was very generous, and the selection was varied. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone who want to get a local flavour of Kolkata.

Our Alleyways Street Food Tour was honestly one of the highlights of many many years of travelling all over the world, including India. Run by the passionate Soham, he guides you to a perfectly curated selection of savoury and sweet treats in his childhood neighbourhood of Shayam Bazar - the heart of “old
Calcutta”. The meeting point is easily reached by metro or taxi from pretty much anywhere in Kolkata. Soham is simply superb - knowledgeable, engaging, funny, everything you could possibly want in a guide. Don’t hesitate to book - the price is worth every rupee - it’s soooo much more than “just some street food”. All our thanks again, Adam & Alex (Feb 2023).

He picks you up outside his home which is 185/B, Raja Dinendra St, Fariapukur, Shyam Bazar, Kolkata, West Bengal 700004, India
Taxi should drop you off opposite the Lady’s entrance to Deshbsndhu Park. It’s easier to go by taxi. Just hang around there and Soham will find you. He also provides a mobile number. It’s a very short walk from there to all the local food places.
