I don't know how the trip was exactly because the tour operator refused to pick me up from my hotel.
I was not informed that they wouldn't service my hotel, which is on the way from shanghai to the first destination, until the night before I was booked to go, meaning that I was unable to cancel my booking through trip advisor and get a refund. I believe they must do this on purpose in order to catch people out.
They also were dishonest to me and said it was impossible for them to cancel the booking on their end. I went through tripadvisor customer service and they contacted the operator who refused to give a refund. So they lied, they could absolutely give a refund, they just didnt want to. Very unprofessional.
Maybe some people get lucky and it all works out with this operator, but I would not trust them.

We enjoyed the entire trip. Get ready for a lot of traffic coming and going out of Shanghai, but it’s a good way to see rural China in the eyes of the water village.
We felt the trip was well planned with a lot of things to see on Suzhou, the garden is incredible and the silk museum is worth it to learn some silk making and buy some real silk products.
Our guide Elena was with us the whole time explaining about history and sights we were seeing.
Lunch was actually good, would prefer to have it in the water village though.
We wish we had more time to spend in the water village.

It was extremely interesting to see the two different towns, enjoy the scenery and savour the local cuisine. The Watertown was nice and quaint, it supposedly looks like how China was in the past. The shops were cute, artsy and reasonably priced. The whole tour felt rushed though. Even though the advertisement indicates 10 hours, we were back at the hotel in 8. The advertised tour does not mention a minimum participant number, but as they only had our 2 person party, they informed us the night before the tour that we could cancel or pay an extra $100. As we had nothing planned and it was too late to get something else, we chose for the extra ‘cash’ payment. Our guide, Tom, spoke English exceptionally well, was very interesting and had tons of things to explain. We learned a lot! He made us feel rushed though. The lunch was very good (and way too much…) in a very authentic restaurant. We would maybe have preferred to eat in the water town, but no complaints at all.
So, beside from the feeling rushed, and the last minute $100 charge, we really enjoyed the tour and are very pleased we choose it!

Suzhou is an easy 30 minute fast train ride form shanghai. We got a taxi to to Pananmen Gate, a must see. I don’t think many tourists get there as it’s not on travel group routes. A pagoda, Chinese buildings, a lake , gardens and a city wall, fortress adjoining the river. A very old bridge is a great photo . A taxi ride back into the old city centre and easy walks of the administrators garden , lions garden and many other attractions. Many markets to buy at which are vibrant and worth visiting at night time for the lights and activities. Not saying day time is any different.
Zhouzhuang water town is a nice place to visit but if only a day Suzhou is the place to go.

Not much to see in Suzou.Saw ancient house-silk factory and was left by the side of a canal with little information or interesting views.Zhouzuoung was a nice water village,but I felt it was a long day with little reward.The guide didnt seem too enthusiastic.

Afortunadamente tuvimos el tour para nosotros de forma exclusiva, lo que nos permitió salir a una muy buena hora en la mañana y disfrutar de un día sin prisas.
el tour es muy recomendable, los paisajes preciosos, interesante la visita a la fábrica de seda y un almuerzo bueno y completo pensado en que satisfaga los gustos de los turistas.
El guía hablaba en un fluido y muy buen inglés, que nos permitió obtener mucha información y resolver todas nuestras inquietudes.
El vehículo en que fuimos recogidos y transportados fue cómodo y contaba con aire acondicionado, muy importante para la época de la visita.
Se cumplió con todo lo ofrecido y fue una buena decisión haber tomado este tour de un día.

I most enjoyed my time in Zhouzhuang's Water town. Wasn't crowded this time of the year so we had a nice, leisurely stroll and boat ride through the Venice of the East's canals and sights. There was an hour's free time to even try out the local eats. Guide was friendly and informative. Would recommend this part of the trip over anything else.

Couldn’t guarantee it, based on how much time you or others on the tour use for shopping at the different places and then the traffic back. I was back before that time but I chose not to shop and I was the only one on the tour that day.
