I've been in Shanghai for quite some time and always relied on my Lonely Planet books, but Yafei makes them look really lonely. Those book only describe the one-for-all places that are crowded and somewhat bland. She's investigative and does research before the tours and it shows. We were taken to houses that don't show in any tourist book, but are authentically Shanghainese.

I made already my second tour with Yafei to discover old Shanghai. And while i am no stranger to Shanghai Yafei showed me many hidden corners enriched with lots of information about history and culture. Two entertaining afternoons with lots of insights in locals live, yummy food and good conversation. Looking forward to discover more of Shanghai with Yafei.

We didn't expect much when we took this tour, you know, the bund is just there, what could you miss? But it turned out to be a real surprise! Not only we saw the glory of the bund, but also the hidden corner of it, the forgotten side of it! Seeing people are making a life with a limited resource is fascinating!
