We had an amazing time on this tour! Our guide went above and beyond to point out wildlife and help take pictures, and we even stopped at a few wildlife hotspots on the ride back to La Fortuna after the hike! He warned us in advance that the river wouldn't be bright blue because of the rain, but it was still a beautiful turquoise color and a really fun hike. There was a miscommunication about our pickup location in the morning, but we contacted Desafio and they helped us resolve the issue quickly. We really appreciate their flexibility and communication, and we're so glad we were able to join the tour despite the mishap in the morning! I'd rate this experience more than 5 stars if I could!

A great hiking trip in the Tenorio national park with Marco who shared his enthusiasm and knowledge about the rainforest. The waterfall is really a magical place and the secrets of the blue water are fascinating. I highly recommend this tour.

So the water is so pretty. I wish California waters looked like this. The walk was long but beautiful. FYI, its a long long way down to see the waterfall up close. its about 200 stairs. I didnt make it down there because im afraid of heights and walking down steep stairs scares me but its still a great experience. Take good walking shoes.

Had an amazing experience with Estaban, who carried a telescope the entire way and pointed out a lot of great flora (quite rainy and windy when we went, so not much wildlife to see). This forest is a great moderate-level hike (lots of steps), but I could see how it might get crowded in the high season. Gorgeous views. I was the only person who signed up and operator (Desafio) didn't cancel, which speaks highly of them. Definitely recommend.

Our guide Carlos couldn’t help the fact that it poured raining for most of our hike. He but did make it as fun as possible and gave us a lot of insight on the area. Lunch was filling and enjoyable

Really enjoyed this hike to the falls. Our tour guide, Carlos, was fun and knowledgeable. He not only taught us about what we saw on the hike, but also during the ride (explaining Costa Rica’s mountain ranges, weather, situation on the continental divide and many other things. There is a chance, due to rain, that the water won’t be blue. It was when we went, but I wouldn’t have been disappointed if it wasn’t because of the hike and Carlos’ expertise.

This was a moderately difficult hike with a very friendly, very prompt tour guide. Jason showed up right at the time appointed and surprisingly due to covid we were lucky enough to have a private tour. Jason was easy to talk to and informative about the tour itself and the area in general with any specific questions we had. The hike itself did have some moderately difficult parts including several parts with steps (one with 250 of so) so be ware if you have physical limitations. Although it had been raining and it was cloudy so the water was not as blue as in some of the photos it was still beautiful and the part where you could see the change of the water was especially cool. My only complaint was that Jason did not seem to be looking out much for animals as we were moving at a pretty brisk pace and we did see other tours taking more time to stop and point things out and talk about the park but perhaps he was keeping an eye out more than I knew and we were just unlucky. Overall it was a tour I would recommend.

Our tour guide and bus driver were so attentive and informative. I’m still not sure how he did it, but our guide, Carlos, saw a sloth sitting in a tree from our moving van! I knew right then and there we were in for a treat.
The hike was exactly as I had imagined and was well prepared for the amount of steps and stairs I would have to complete. The views are worth every step! The lunch afterwards was delicious.

We did the Rio Celeste through Desafio Adventure Co while staying in La Fortuna, and it was a great experience. The shuttle ride to Rio Celeste is a fun way to see some smaller Costa Rica communities and countryside. Our guide and driver were professional and fun, and spoke excellent English. The hike itself goes through some beautiful rain forest, sometimes muddy, sometimes a little steep, but not too difficult. The waterfall and the river are stunning - I’ve never seen that color blue in fresh water before. On the way home, we stopped at an excellent roadside restaurant for lunch, with delicious local food. Highly recommend this activity!

We went on this hike during the rainy season, and once I realized the river would probably not be blue on our day, I kind of regretted booking it. HOWEVER, it ended up being one of our best experiences! Our guide, Walter, was amazing. So incredibly knowledgeable about the environment and the region's history, and life in Costa Rica. It was so much more interesting and educational than I expected, and it added so much depth to our experience. We feel so lucky to have spent a day with Walter! Pura Vida Mae!
