Great cave tour, the best thing we did in CR. Great bat observation / Closer look at Vampier bats. We waited and slid through crevices that, from a closer look, were not designed for human access and ended up in Huge cavities inside the cave, where you climbed an almost huge vertical wall to the exit of the cavity with the help of the guide. I 14 did the tour with my mother (47), my little sister 7 and my father did not participate in the tour. The guide said we could have taken her. In fact, after the tour my mother felt that we should take her with us.

My father and I went and had an amazing time, the guide taught us about the millions of years of history all while showing us all of the cool critters & formations. Definitely challenging sometimes but the challenging paths are optional, I highly reccomend coming here for a wild yet fascinating experience.

Booked a day in advanced no problem. Guide messaged for pickup location and we opted to meet at the caves due to it being a shorter drive. We went on a Monday morning and had the cave to ourselves. Joshua, our guide was great, he was friendly and easy to understand, as well as having a great sense of humor and knowledge of the caves. We were encouraged to go through the narrow openings while in the cave which made the experience much more fun. I’m 6’3 180lbs and had no problems. If you enjoy your rice and beans just make sure to stretch beforehand, as you will be low crawling and scooting around through small areas. We were provided with refreshments afterwards as well as towels and a place to shower. Bring a change of clothes. I did not bring my phone but had my go pro on a head mount which worked great. If you bring your phone I suggest getting a waterproof bag for it, as you will be crawling on hands and knees and the water level changes day to day.

Aaron set a leasurely and safe pace through an amazing cave experience. Get dirty, crawl really low and learn about history and geology on this excursion . Bad knees, don't go. Claustrophobic? Maybe skip. Up for something different, this is for you.

The cave hike was amazing. We did not know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised. Our Guide Gonzalez was very good! He took pictures of us at different points, on our phone.
We had a rental car and didn’t need to be picked up. We thought we were booking directly thru the owners of the Venado Caves but no. You can save money by booking directly thru them.

Awesome tour of the Venado Caves. We had a blast. Our guide was friendly & knowledgeable. He took photos for us during the excursion. We felt 100 safe. You do get down and dirty. There are some tight spaces, but you can opt out. Showers are provided at the end, along w/delicious snack. Bring water shoes & change of clothes. Transportation picked us up right at our Airbnb in Fortuna. Had an awesome time. Highly recommend!

I was lucky enough to go on this tour by myself . The guide was awesome . Very knowledgable and interesting . The caves had some tight spots but they manageable . Cool to see many different animals. Humming birds, Cane frog , racer snake, Spiders, huge Crickets, catfish and many , many bats. Very interesting tour.

The caves were awesome. The guide was very informative. We seen lots of wildlife, insects, and bats. 100% recommend for others. The trip in from La Fortuna was very beautiful as well.

Had a great time, this was a lot of fun and saw some of the things that live in the caves! Was really interesting and learned a lot. Would definitely recommend this. Bring a change of clothes!

This tour was very rigorous but really fun. Andre was a personable and informative guide. I feel lucky he was out guide.
Be prepared to get dirty and completely soaked from crawling through water in the tunnels . Honestly, it was so fun and adventurous I didn’t mind at all.
There is some scrambling involved but the guide helped. Before this, I had only walked upright through a couple caves in the US. I absolutely loved caving and would recommend this tour unless someone has a fear of closed tight spaces. Bring extra shoes and clothes and a waterproof way to carry your phone for photos if you want photos.
