Great to be kayaking when I know our rivers at home are still solid!

Two couples with lots of canoeing experience were able to get out on the water on a beautiful March day. The guide could lead us at our pace, and was an excellent bird watcher. He spotted birds and had a lot to say about them, as well as the development of the area. Great resource of information. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We had such a lovely time on this tour! We laughed at the antics of our tour guide and were incredibly entertained with the creatures we saw on the way to and from the lake. Kayaking was relaxing and fun. The fruit provided after we got off the lake was fresh and delightful. We had a great time!

We have done lots of kayaking but this experience was NOT GOOD! We were given a VERY OLD heavy kayak that we spent agonizing time trying to steer in the right direction and eventually gave up! Later in our trip we did ocean kayaking in a more modern kayak with up to date paddles and it was GREAT! We saw other kayakers this same day who had much better equipment and seemed to be enjoying themselves. NOT us! Our guide, Caesar, tried to help us and took/sent us some nice photos, but in the end, we just returned to the shore.

Kristel was such a good tour guide. She had a wealth of knowledge and the ability to flow from topic to topic while guiding us the right way to go on the lake without being blown off course by the wind.

We had so much fun kayaking! Kristel was our guide and we LOVED her! She was so quick to help us and we had an amazing chat. We learned lots about Arenal volcano and the La fortuna region.

Roy our guide could not have been more knowledgeable, polite, and lovely to be with! He found us a sloth and some coatis before we’d even got to the lake! He had an amazing knowledge of the bird life we saw in abundance, and the whole trip was relaxing, beautiful and memorable. Thank you 😘

The scenery was fabulous - and having someone in a boat to take pictures and made us feel extra safe with the motor boat along with us for the tour. Very nice people!! Trainee was excellent at spotting birds!!
And trust Roy if he says the rain will clear - it did! It is a bit of a workout paddling - but you rest in between.

The morning of our tour no one showed to pick us up. Turned out there was a miscommunication between Trip Advisor and the tour company, but in a pinch they sent a van our way and we ended up getting a private session with Carlos. So if you book this, make sure to call and confirm with the company that they received your reservation!
Carlos took us for an easy kayaking trip across the lake to a viewpoint of the volcano. He taught us about the history of the volcano and then we kayaked back.
I think the cost is a bit pricey for what it was but that also may not be fair as we didn’t go on the actual group tour. Either way I appreciated how responsive and helpful the company was despite the snafu.

Roger our captain (guide) was muy excellente and so nice, kind, informative and was very fluent in English. We would highly recommend this adventure. The kayaks were very stable and extremely comfortable as kayaks go. Great relaxing time on a pristine lake. Thank you Roger for the fun time and great memories. Next time we visit CR, we’ll try fishing!
