It works as expected. The bus picks you up at the hotel, then you cross the lake by boat and finally take a shuttle to your hotel at your destination.

We found that tour online when we were trying to figure out how we can get from La Fortuna to Monteverde. The tour started with a bus to Arenal lake, and then a boat for about half an hour, then a bus tour for about 1.5 hours. Overall I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants an interesting experience, but I would not recommend to those who have heavy luggages. There are two places beside the lake where you have to walk on muddy grounds and also carry luggage to transfer between bus and boat.

Beautiful Lake. But Muddy and Dirty Ports of Loading and Unloading On Both Sides Of The Arenal Lake.
I have it 5 star here but be careful here. Let me tell you: the nature here is gorgeous. The man made Arenal lake is beautiful with crystal clear water! The only upsetting thing in the whole transfer is the points of loading and unloading the boats. In fact, we even complained to our travel agent about this. Both sides of the lake where tourists buses come in to unload transferring passengers so not have any pavement or gravel on the ground… given that it rains a lot in La Fortuna all throughout a year, the ground was nothing but mud… this is unacceptable by any civilized world standard! Especially under circumstances that these areas of loading and unloading passengers are high traffic tourist areas. And tourism is the #1 revenue generator in Costa Rica. Please see the pictures to understand the whole problem. Bottom line, wear a rain boots and hope fo the best! We recommend this transfer as it cut hours out of our road trip to Arenal given the fact that Costa Rican roads are a third world level.

Costa Rican massage for the first hour after the boat ride - but nice rest stop - and then easier trip after that! Felt well taken care of - pick up at hotel exactly on time to make the boat with a beautiful ride across the lake. Drivers were experienced on the roads - I would not have wanted to drive! Worth the money to have someone take care of you!

We are a family of 4 with two kids ages 10 and 7 and wanted to do the shuttle boat shuttle transfer. This was our 2nd time going with Costa Rica Itinerary. Although we were supposed to leave a day earlier from Arenal, we decided to stay 1 more day since we loved it. I contacted Costa Rica Itinerary to see if it was possible to move our reservation the following day. They were so friendly and worked with us to help us out.
The transfer from our hotel in arenal to the boat dock was right on time and easy. From the dock, we were quickly on our way to Monteverde. The guide was very knowledgeable and explained everything in detail. We would definitely use their again.
