My friend and I went on this excursion not knowing what to expect but knew it was a must do while in Costa Rica. We did a total of 12 zip lines and the guides were amazing. Alan and Andrea did an amazing job making my friend comfortable ,she is scared of guests but this was a must do thing so they rode with her on all the zip lines. They weren’t bothered at all we all had a great time the views were to die for. Super safe. The climb isn’t for the weak but u can take your time no one is in a rush. 10 out of 10 recommend

It’s an adrenaline rush. One thing you need to know about this company is that they move you along. A quick 3-min safety video, jump into a harness, then a tractor ride up the hill, and you’re up on a line. I think it’s by design because they don’t want to give you the opportunity to get scared.
These lines are long and fast. Rollercoaster speeds. But what a rush! Never felt unsafe.

5 star review BUT the website and booking does not give enough details to prepare you.
HERE IS WHAT YOU ACTUALLY NEED TO KNOW.
1. Clothing: they tell you to wear long pants. You do not HAVE to. It is HOT and you do strenuous exercise up to the zipline. However, some people who wore shorts did get scratches and were bleeding from hitting a branch or two. It was rare, but did happen.
2. Supplies: You cannot take anything with you. It is left in lockers. No fanny pack, not a small backpack. Only what you can put in zipped pockets. This means that their recommendation to bring bug spray, etc, is moot. WATER: There are water jugs along the way here and there with paper cups. MONEY: There are souvenirs at the end, before you drive back, which they don't tell you, and this means you need to have cash on hand for them - which no one did.
3. Physical Exercise: They tell you that people with heart problems shouldn't do this. However, you do need to be at a certain physical level for it in general. If you are not, you will delay your group significantly and may even turn around. We were an HOUR behind because of a group who was not physically fit and could not climb the stairs and the looooong uphill trail to get to the first zipline. My sister had to breastfeed her baby and instead of being gone for the 2.5 hrs plus driving, we were gone for 4. We also had people completely give up and turn around, but you do not get your money back.
4. Souvenir Shop: there are 2 at the very end before you are driving back on the bus to your vehicles. Put cash in zipped pockets if you want to buy these and support those owners.
5. Weight: if you are lighter and/or smaller you will often have to go down with a guide, sometimes with another person from another group and a guide. They jokingly call this a 'taxi' and it's so you don't get stuck. My sister did get stuck. You just deal with it, and she didn't mind, but some people might.
6. IF I COULD MAKE ANY RECOMMENDATIONS they would be:
- bring Ski Goggles if you want to be able to see through the rain and not be pelted. Some of the guides had them. Brilliant.
- Wear breathable and lightweight shoes and clothes, quick drying is best. You do not need long sleeves or long pants but it is nice to have mid thigh shorts to avoid chafing from the harness. Be warned that some people did get scratched with only wearing shorts.
All in all, it was an amazing day. None of these are complaints, we just thought it odd that they didn't tell you some of them. Some of them aren't necessary to know ahead of time but others seem like they should have been noted in advance.
We LOVED the day. None of these things actually bothered us, but we noted that they did bother other people and I thought it would be helpful to share!

Great Zipline course and wonderful guides!! I guess I missed the review that warned of the hike with LOTS of steps before the zipping began, but once we got started, it was AWESOME!!! The whole set up was very professional and we felt safe and secure.

My girlfriend and i took the big ama tour which is the one with 12 different zip lines!
We had an absolute blast!
We went while it was raining and it just felt amazing to be zipping through the trees at great speeds while getting wet!
The views are AMAZING with the volcano in the background.
Plus, you get to see two beautiful waterfalls!
The tour guides were super kind and funny while also making sure all of us felt safe!
I definitely recommend to pay extra for the photos because the photographer does a great job and the pictures will last a life time!
If you’re in La Fortuna, this is a MUST-DO activity!!

This was so much fun!! There were 12 zip lines that increased from shorter/slower to faster/longer. It was such a great experience and our group loved it. Just gorgeous views and a thrilling experience overall.
The only thing I wished we’d known sooner is that there was a significant hike to get to the first zip line after the ride to the end of the road. It was steep and long, with many steps, and a couple of us were pretty out of shape and had to stop several times to catch our breath. It took a good 25 mins of uphill hiking to get where we were starting, and it would have been nice to know that ahead of time. We may have chosen to do a different option or different company.
But allll the employees were so amazing and helpful and reassuring and kind. They were so patient with us and once we got started it wasn’t as “scary” or intimidating.

Absolute Must Do when visiting La Fortuna. Very professional tour with super equipment. No need to think about risks, as the conditions are even more safe than in Europe!! Unbelievable experience.

My husband and I had the best time! The guides (Johan and Harrison) were very knowledgeable and we felt safe at all times. My husband is afraid of heights and even he loved it! There is a really long zip line where you get a great view of the waterfall! Highly recommend!

We did a private tour with Alan and Alex and it was great. Very fun guys and the experience was awesome. We would do it again foe sure. Photos are a must as well. Memories foe a lifetime! Thanks guys!

After you zipline are you able to walk down to the base of the waterfall and spend time there? Also, we have a car of our own.....is there parking?

Is there a weight limit for this activity? My husband is 260 pounds, 6'. Also, how do you get to the platforms--hike, climb up?

The weight limit is about 275lbs.....You do hike up to the platforms. The guides are very patient so you can hike at the pace you are comfortable with. Some guides will be paired with the fast group while others with the slower groups with kids or older people.
