Had two amazing dives with Miguel and the team at TamaDive!! We saw so many incredible animals - tons of fish, sharks, starfish, rays. We even saw rays jumping out of the water from the boat. All the instructors take videos they send to you afterwards which was such a nice added bonus.

We had an amazing time. I am an Advanced OWD and did my skills refresher and my wife wanted to try out scuba for the first time. The instructor was super patient with my wife and tried hard to make sure she is comfortable and safe. She ended up snorkeling as she couldn’t get used to all the equipment right of the bat and had a great time anyway. I did my skills in about 5 min and we went onto two hour long dives and had amazing time. Saw a bunch of underwater life including some sharks. We would definitely recommend this place and when we return, we will be booking again for sure

Absolutely amazing experience. I did a refresher dive having not dived for 6 years since I completed my PADI and advanced qualifications. Miguel was fantastic, answered all my questions, was very patient and always checked to make sure I was OK knowing that I was feeling a little apprehensive having not dived for a while. The dive itself was unreal - the most special part was the sound of a humpback whale throughout the whole of our second dive. We saw sharks, rays, trumpet fish and many many more!! Highly recommend. One of the best days of our holiday.

TamaDive is a very friendly and professional dive shop. We met one of the owners and three dive masters - all were very knowledgeable and patient. My wife and I hadn’t dived for several years and are 65 years old. We took the refresher course with Miguel (who was excellent). We relearned all of the skills we had forgotten and feel ready to dive again. We highly recommend the course

We did 2 days, the first was the refresher course and then 2 dives the next day. The guys were very knowledgeable and didn't mind app out questions. They keep the groups small, like 3 people per guide, so you got a lot of attention and feedback while diving. This place was the best. Check them out!

Both my son and I have our PADI licenses; however, due to COVID it hd been a while since we have been diving. We were in Tamarindo for two days, and had seen some amazing photo's and reviews about diving in Costa Rica. So, we decided to book a refreshing course, just to be sure we made no mistakes that would harm us.
We booked at TamaDive for the reviews, and a few days in advance we received information on the course location and start time (early... 6:15 AM). And we also received our homework... 21 questions that we had to answer in advance.
We got a pick up at the hotel (tanks), and after filing in the usual documents for diving we got a thorough review and refresher by Fiona, who would be our instructor and dive master for the day. And she was serious about the questions and motivation (appreciated).
We got our gear (great new equipment - no wet-suit as not required) and had to travel per bus for roughly 40 days to the harbour where our boat and captain was waiting for us. They have a great boat, well equipped for diving.
Fiona let us handle the equipment, and checked to ensure compliance and safety. After being instructed properly, we made our first dive that was focused on the refreshing activities. Fiona showed us again under water what to do, and then let us repeat it until properly executed. That took the first part of the dive, after that we looked around and saw beautiful fish like sharks, pufferfish, triggerfish, trumpetfish, crabs, octopus, moray eel... beautiful. We were under water for 57 minutes.
The second dive was at a different location, although we more or less saw the same kind of fish. We apparently missed the green see turtle, although we were lucky enough a few days earlier to see one laying eggs in Tortugero.
Nothing wrong? Yes, there was, mostly our own mistake. As space on board was limited, we agreed to be on the bow. However, there was no sun protection there and we didn't wear clothes nor did we use suncream... that was a big mistake.

Thank you for your very detailed review. It seem that day it took you a lot longer than usual to get to the boat (40 days)... I promise it usually only takes maximum 40 minutes :D.
The bow indeed is the sunbed of our boat for the people that want to tan but the sun is strong here so to sit in the shade is a great advice from you. Thanks again and we hope to see you again.

Awesome experience with my refresher course by master diver Fiona and was fantastic. She took gopro photos for me so I could focus on my dive then emailed me a link of all the photos. The rest of the family snorkeled and had a great time but not as much as me and my brother. However Next time I will want chocolate for my snack.

Thank you for taking your time to review us. We are thrilled to read that you had an excellent time with us. Fiona is actually a divemaster, not a master diver. Small difference but important as one is a professional certification whilst the other is a recreational certification.
We will keep the chocolate in mind for when you come next time :D

Did a refresh course with TamaDive, since it was 5 years ago since my last dive. I felt well informed, helped and safe all the way throughout. The guides speak great English and are super friendly. They spotted so many amazing animals for us and shared their fotos with us. Highly recommend!!

TamaDive was able to accommodate two refresher dives and two discoveries all on the same trip. It was somewhat hard to convince my friends to give it a shot but they definitely thought this was incredible. The dive sites here are incredible, and I love the included underwater photography.
The operation is safe and well run. My group of friends had a great adventure and this was certainly the highlight of our trip to Costa Rica.

It's great to hear that you had a wonderful experience with us! We always try to accommodate different levels of experience and provide a safe and enjoyable environment for all.
It's also great to hear that the dive sites were incredible and that the underwater photography was a nice touch. Having the ability to capture and share your underwater experiences can add a whole new level of enjoyment to your dives.
