Our tour of Llanos de Cortéz Waterfall + Rio Celeste Hike and Waterfall + Wildlife Sanctuary was amazing!!!! We saw two beautiful waterfalls, lots of animals/creatures and had a delicious lunch!! Verny was an absolutely awesome guide. He was so knowledgeable about the rain forest, the animals, Costa Rica and more. He was always listening and looking for animals and found many we would have never seen ourselves. He was kind, always concerned for our safety, and treated us like royalty. I would absolutely recommend this tour to anyone and would go again if I’m ever in the area.

We had a wonderful time on our trip with Verny. He went above and beyond to meet every request we had. From the moment he picked us up, he was a wealth of knowledge about his country and has a real passion sharing his country with his guests. I highly recommend.

This was a great trip to see a LOT in one day. Verny was a great guide- he did everything with excellence. The waterfall is worth the hike and the animals exceeded our expectations. The lunch was delicious as well.

We’re so happy we went on this tour. Our driver Hernan was kind and very accommodating. He had a broad knowledge of the area and was able to provide lots of interesting information and answer our questions well. The hike through the rainforest to the gorgeous waterfall was interesting and we saw some snakes. It was slightly crowded but fortunately we got there before more crowds started arriving. Saw many more animals at the sloth sanctuary: sloths, frogs, snakes, toucans and other birds and insects. Our guide was adept at pointing out creatures, and even took photos for us through her binoculars. Butterfly farm was also great, lots of varieties and colors. A long but wonderful day!

We had a wonderful experience on our tour. Verny, our guide, was extremely accommodating and kind. We saw amazing wildlife including multiple sloths in the wild, tucans, tree frogs, bats, butterflies, snakes, coatis, and a tapir footprint. Rio Celeste and the waterfall are absolutely stunning. Lunch was wonderful as well! I highly recommend this company.

Where to begin?? We had the best day of our trip with On the Road. It was an early morning pick up and a long drive from Tamarindo, but our guide made the experience front start to finish a joyful one. We saw sloths, vipers, frogs, butterflies, and on and on… it was absolutely amazing! Our guide’s name was Vernie, and like so many other reviewers on here, we firmly believe that he made our trip what it was: special, unique, safe, friendly, and one of a kind!! We ended up seeing a baby sloth whose mother left him alone too early… the guides are working to get him united with a surrogate mother, but in the meantime, we had a dreamy experience getting up close to a baby sloth, and it was exceptional. I also got to hold a red-eyed frog in gloved hands, which was so special! 11/10 recommend taking this adventure with On the Road!!

The rain forest was wet! lol we enjoyed our stroll through the forest seeing some wildlife and beautiful falls.
Then we got to see the sloths! And it was amazing along with a couple frogs and a viper! It was just an amazing experience and once again our guides were so nice and informative!

This trip to Rio Celeste waterfall and rain forest hike was amazing and full of adventure in a rain. Nothing could stop us from having fun and enjoying beautiful nature of rain forest. Our guide Verny from On the Road Costa Rica was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable about rain forests and it’s habitat. We have learned a lot about this beautiful Costa Rica and it’s history. We loved every minute of this trip. Verny made this trip so special so we would highly recommend this tour with Verny. Verny you are the best! Muchas gracias and pura vida!

We can’t say enough about how qualified and excellent our tour guide was. Verny was amazing. He was very knowledgeable and was so kind. We were fortunate enough to have him guide us on two tours. When we return to Costa Rica-on the road will be the only company we use! Verny is a friend for life!

Verny was the most outstanding and dedicated tour guide. He treated us like family and made our experience full of so many exciting memories. Verny is very hospitable, and very knowledgeable about his country and all of its fauna and flora. He made sure we got to see everything that mother nature in Costa Rica offered, even stopping by the road so we could see some toucans up close.
I loved that Verny made sure we were all safe and could walk the trails at our own pace, even stopping to see some animals. He let us stop for a cup of coffee as our adventure started very early in the morning. We saw many toucans, eyelash vipers, sloths, and red eyed tree frogs on our journey.
Lunch was delicious as well, and even despite the sudden downpour of rain, we were able to see lots of animals.
Seeing all the wildlife was a dream come true for our family. We are so happy with our experience being apart of the family with On the Road Costa Rica for a day and we would definitely book with them again or tell our friends.
