We booked this tour to kill time in SJO. We did it on the first day of our 10-day trip and our boys (ages 9, 12, and 13) talked about the food experience our whole trip. This tour is definitely a must and a great experience for all ages. Our guide was super knowledgeable and the food was plenty. We were stuffed with good eats by the end of the tour. Would recommend to anyone with a little extra time in SJO.

Great tour - perfect introduction to the city. The guide is amazing and all the food you grab along the way is lovely. Make sure you go hungry! Strongly recommend this tour for solo travelers or friends

Angel did a great job walking us around San José, giving us some of the history of country and the city, and visiting some landmark buildings. We also tasted foods unique to Costa Rica. And had a cooking lesson with a coffee lesson from Eric at the last stop. Angel did a great job addressing everyone in the group. And a great job keeping us together on the busy streets during a busy weekend. The tour was exactly as stated and we enjoyed it tremendously. There were couples, solos and groups of friends on the tour.

Daniel, our guide, was excellent. He spoke to us about the areas we passed through, pointed out objects of interest and explained the origins of several of the foods that we tasted. He was cautious and explained each item that we tasted. He cooked a plantain tamale for us to taste. This was a very useful 3 hour tour and met all out expectations. We would recommend for every family with teens (especially) and adults.

It was a must-do in San Jose! We wouldn’t be able to know and try so many good local food if it weren’t for this trip. We also got to see several cultural and historical sites in the city and learned about stories behind them. The cooking class at the end was above and beyond our expectations! I’ve never had such a good empanada before and it was handmade by myself!

Oscar was really excellent, this is a great way to get in a few sights and try some great fruits and snacks. The cooking at the end is really fun and our teenage girls loved this. Most importantly we felt safe walking around with Oscar leading the way!

This was a super fun way to experience San José. They have organized a very thoughtful tour that introduced us to local farmers and vendors and we got to eat all kinds of delicious fruits, snacks, and learn some interesting history of the city. The tour ended with a mini cooking class that was very fun. Highly recommend!!

A great tour to start or finish your visit to Costa Rica. Overview of the history of the country, a few sights in the centre and lots of tasting in the market. Absolutely recommend!

An amazing tour and a must for anyone visiting San Jose, Costa Rica!
This is the first tour we did as we arrived into the country, our tourguide Angel was the best! He gave an absolutely phenomenal walk throughout the city, with great historic information, good, an a wonderful attitude. He toured us in English and Spanish, while making us feel very welcome!
You get a great walk, history, fruit, coffee, food, empanadas, tamales, and all this for such a great price.
A must!

I would Google the "Bites and Sites San Jose" tour or you can find it on Viator.
I will say you won't regret the tour.
