Fantastic tour to swim with turtles, sharks and rays. We were just on the other side of whale season but still got to learn about the migration. Overall an amazing personalized experience. Andrew was an excellent guide and Chewbacca an excellent boatman. Small group makes it truly excellent with lovely fresh fruits and juice to end the tour.

I can’t say enough about Moorea Moana Tours and their incredible team. My experience was so wonderful the first time – a two-day tour in October, including a private trip – that I booked another trip as soon as I got off the plane, returning at the end of the whale season in November for two more private days! These experiences went far beyond my expectations and have left me with memories I’ll cherish forever.
Louise Lam, my guide, was the heart of the tour. She is not only knowledgeable and professional but one of the warmest and most genuinely kind people I’ve ever met. Louise has an incredible passion for marine life that she shares so freely, creating an atmosphere that is both educational and inspiring. She made every moment on the boat educational, fun, and exhilarating. Her enthusiasm was contagious, and she took the time to ensure everyone felt comfortable and safe – whether it was our first time in the water or our second trip, like mine! Her kindness and commitment to each guest’s comfort and enjoyment made me feel incredibly cared for – she truly went above and beyond to make every moment special.
The photographers, Louise Gille, Mata, and Baptise, were phenomenal. On all of my trips, they all ensured we got beautifully captured memories of the experience. Louise Gille, especially, is one of the most talented photographers I’ve ever met and is simply inspiring. Her talent, eye for detail, creativity, and her passion for photography shone through in every shot. Louise Gille's dedication to her craft is remarkable. She too exudes kindness and warmth that made this trip feel so special. The photos they took allow me to relive those magical moments over and over again.
On both trips, I was able to spend hours up close and personal with the whales, a privilege I never imagined possible. The care and dedication that the crew showed ensured that I felt safe, comfortable, and fully immersed in each incredible moment. Their love for the ocean and for sharing these experiences with others is truly inspiring, and it shows in everything they do.
I am already planning my return next year and highly recommend Moorea Moana Tours to anyone wanting an unforgettable, heartwarming, and awe-inspiring experience with the whales. The passion, kindness, and talent of this team will leave you with memories that last a lifetime.

Wow! Honestly words are not enough! BEAUTIFUL experience. The team was PERFECT. We had many encounters with whales because our guide (Louise Lam) was super knowledgeable, she always knew where the whales were and made me feel super safe. Our photographer (Louise Gilles) took some AMAZING pictures of all our crew. They both felt like underwater guardians. They have so much respect for the whales and I would not want to go with anybody else but them!! Also, Captain Chewy was amazing, he was super comfortable navigating the boat which made me feel confident and relaxed even in bad weather. THE DREAM TEAM! Can’t wait to be back next year. After 5 days in the water with them they truly feel like a family, they made it fun and it was calming to have them in such good spirits all the time.

We had the best time searching and swimming with whales. Our lovely and capable leader gave us guidelines for swimming with whales and sharks in case we come across one. About 2 miles off shore we came across a singing whale and into the water we went.
We save a couple other whales and tried to swim with a second one that disappeared after we got into the water.
The songs it was singing in the water resonated through us. It was the neatest experience to hear and feel the whale singing.
Note: This is not an easy thing to do. If you aren’t a good swimmer or comfortable snorkeler then take the whale sightseeing boat and not this adventure. Seriously, we had 6’ swells and a couple snorkelers that were a mess and that causes problems for everyone. It’s hard and you’ll swim quite a distance to see these beautiful creatures -so, think of others if you aren’t good in the water. (Not being nasty, just being honest)

What an experience! Saw 2 adult whales with a baby. So close that we locked eyes ! Thanks to our excellent hosts. O’neil, Captain Roberto, Ocean, Josh you’re the best. Pierrick and his team were professional, accommodating and great at what they do.Thank you for this unique experience!

My husband and I traveled to Mo'orea for our honeymoon specifically to swim with the whales. And after researching different tour groups we decided on Moorea Moana Tours and WE ARE SO HAPPY WE DID. We booked 3 half day private charters (if you can do the private charter, highly recommend... it's so nice controlling your pace and getting to know your tour guide and captain) and for two of them we had Louise as our tour guide and Andrew for our captain and they were THE BEST! Louise made us so confident with our safety in the open water... specifically when it came to sharks (my husband and I are terrified of sharks). She was so personable and knowledgable and just really made the experience so wonderful! On our last charter with them we weren't very successful in finding whales to swim with... until the VERY end of our time (and a little time after). They got us in the water with a juvenile female that was SO playful for about 5 minutes... but it was one of the best encounters of the trip! We loved our tours and we had such magical moments with a handful of different whales (mom and calf, juveniles... no male escorts but hopefully next time)! If you want to swim with the whales... choose Moorea Moana. They are respectful of the ocean and the whales while also doing their very best to get you the most magical experience! We will be back and we will be doing more charters with this group and hopefully with Louise and Andrew!

It really is the experience of a lifetime! Don’t miss this if you’re able, but also be aware that you aren’t guaranteed to get to swim with the whales, and when you do, the swim can be challenging, as the boat is not allowed to get closer than about 100 meters (which is respected and strictly enforced). So you’ll need to swim the rest of the way and the group will be motivated to get there, so it’ll be a workout.
We jumped in once to try to get close to a pod of melon-headed whales, but they weren’t interested in hanging around, so we jumped back onboard to look for humpbacks. We ran into a mother and baby near the end of the morning and were able to get up close and personal.
We were running late, which is likely why we didn’t do the stop for rays and sharks at the end, but the whales is what it’s really about.

The trip was unbelievable and I couldn’t have imagined a better experience myself. As amazing as the experience was with the whales, what truly put the expedition over the top was the phenomenal crew. Their communication, service, and knowledge was over the top. Charlotte, Iotua, Louis, & Heley really did a fantastic job and really made us feel welcomed and loved. Mauru’uru Moorea and to the whole MooreaMoanaCharters for everything you do.

The crew was excellent! We managed to swim within 10m of a sleeping male humpback whale. It was truly a life changing experience. The crew did a great job explaining all safety items and how to navigate around the whales. They were also especially respective of the whales in the water (unlike other groups). I would highly recommend this experience to anyone visiting Moorea.
