We had a fantastic half day sunrise safari tour with Gerrie. The early start was more than worth it to see the huge range of wildlife on offer. Gerrie was so informative and knowledgable of the animals and the park, and answered all the questions we had. He did his utmost to find the animals we wanted to see, and gave us recommendations for our next safari. We saw lions, giraffes, buffalo, elephants and a variety of beautiful birds to name a few. Thanks for an unforgettable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our half day private safari experience. Well worth the early rise to see the different animals in this beautiful park. The communication and directions from Gerrie prior to safari made the trip easy and our guide for the morning was informative, helpful and well suited to our family. Our 14 year old son had many questions to which our guide engaged with, while actively searching and using his knowledge of the park to find the animals we wished to see. Thank you Gerrie and Cameron for a great experience.

The best for a family trip! Highly recommend Kruger Gateway Safaris. This is now an annual trip that we book with Gerrie. Third year and as exiting as the first time. Gerrie is so knowledgeable and the kids just love doing a trip with him. Will most definitely book again next year for our Kruger holiday!

We spent a wonderful half day with Keegan mainly looking at the vast number of different species of birds to be found in the area around Skukuza camp. For anyone who wants to see more of the abundant bird life and other smaller species in Kruger, Keegan is simply excellent.

We booked a Day out in the Park with our family on the 18th May 2024. Our guide was the Awesome host and guide Gerry.With his very first question to us being what was on our to see whishlist, he made every effort to tick off the list through out the day.He was amazing with our grandchildren, even better with the adults. Gerries knowledge of the Kruger Park, the animals, birds and local history was extensive as he kept conversations flowing. Weve all been to the Kruger Park on many occasions , but this will be a special one to remember . Thank You Gerrie!!! Fom the Thomas Family

This safari with Gerrie was the highlight of our SA vacation. We did the Half Day trip. Gerrie was right on time pre-dawn at our doorstep at the resort and whisked us away to the Phabeni Gate entrance of Kruger. What followed was 7 hrs of incredible viewings! Gerrie is very knowledgeable about the flora & fauna in the area and kept us informed throughout the safari. And we saw the most amazing sights: leopard hunting and devouring an antelope about 10 feet away from our vehicle, group of endangered wild dogs feasting on a carcass only to have it stolen by hyena, lions, elephants, giraffe, rhino, buffalo, zebra, hippo, an ostrich(!) and much much more. Check attached pics! Gerrie knew exactly where to take us, sometimes off the beaten path and it paid off! It was the most fantastic day and we thank Gerrie and Kruger Gateway Safaris for making it happen!

Hi Anita, yes, our trip together was the most insane. Never did I realize a "unproductive" little detour to look a two Woolly neck Storks would allow an unseen Leopard to hunt an Impala 30 meters away. Dragging it in front of us and then feeding 5 metres away from us under a tree. Nobody but us watching and listening in awe of Nature at it's rawest best.

We chose Kruger get away safari because they were the only ones that accepted babies (our son is 8months) and Gerrie seemed very nice and used to have families. Well Gerrie we found out he was way more than that! Amazing guide, did everything for us to have a good time, see almost all big 5, felt safe even with the baby. I definitely recommend if we wanna have a good time with a pro, learn about Kruger parc and all its animals. Amazing experience! Definitely recommend. Bonus; he is on time, shares pictures I mean what else would you want

We had a fabulous safari! Gerrie is very knowledgeable about the fauna and flora in the park and is a great spotter. We feel exceptionally privileged to have seen such a variety of animals. Highly enjoyable day and can highly recommend Gerrie for a Kruger Park Safari. You will definitely see us again 🤗

We did the morning drive with Gerrie and we had a fantastic day.
We are traveling with two small children aged 2 and 4 and Gerrie made it a very nice ride for all four of us. He also immediately reassured us that we didn't have to worry too much about the children. And we didn't! Because we saw a lot of animals!
We had a 'magnificent 7' day with Gerrie, where we saw lions and leopards, but also cheetahs. The cheetahs were even actively hunting. Unfortunately we didn't get a kill, but it was still fantastic to see!
Thank you Gerrie, also on behalf of Isa and Mees, they will be talking about the crocodile for a long time ❤️

What a fantastic Safari we had with Gerry. We left early in the morning (5:30) and returned to the starting point in the afternoon (1:00 PM). We saw so much, absolutely incredible (including 3x wild dogs)!! Highly recommended to go out with Gerry on your first day in Kruger. Gerry was able to tell us so much about the animals. Just ask anything from giraffes to birds. Gerry knows it all!!
Around 8:30 we stopped to get coffee and something to eat. Gerry recommended a take away, because this way we could immediately look for even more animals. I would definitely follow that tip!
In addition, Gerry helped us enormously with finding our way around Kruger and gave us advice and tips for the route and which animals to see where.
Highly recommended if you want to book a Safari!
