John is fantastically knowledgeable and curated a brilliant full-day tour for us. He really knows his stuff and is full of interesting facts about the South African wine market. Everything was chosen around our personal interests in wine, so we really got the most out of it. Everyone knows John, so you know you're in good hands. Would 100% recommend this highlight of our trip.

Brilliant private day tour at Stellenbosch made extra special with Martin.

We had a very friendly and experienced guide for our private wine tour - Martin. He was extremely knowledgeable as he makes wines, and he made our wine tasting day one to remember. We enjoyed tasting different red and white wines with cheese and chocolate, and learned so much. We were also able to see a wine cellar where the wines were being made and saw how the finished wines are stored. A fantastic day trip which we would definitely recommend to our friends.

Great day out

A great day with the lovely Louw whose knowledge of the area made it alll the more special. 2 of the 3 vineyards visited offered a great experience sadly the sommelier on the third was very nervous and difficult to understand which made it less enjoyable. Louw switched the lunch venue to the Postcard cafe where we enjoyed a very reasonable lunch in the most stunning setting. Would recommend this tour.

A great wine tour around Stellenbosch area. Highly recommend

We had a lovely day wine tasting with our guide Lieze. We went to 3 totally different wineries for tasting. All wineries had something different to offer and it included a chocolate and cheese pairing. As it was our 40th anniversary, they managed to get us a table for a lovely lunch at the Delaire Graff winery. Lieze was full of knowledge, not just about wine, and we had some great chats. We really enjoyed our trip and we would highly recommend it

Wonderful day with Wine Escapes

Had a great day in Stellenbosch as part of our Cape Town visit. Fascinating history of the region, terrific wines and personal service. Wines were terrific.

Awesome trip with capable and super friendly guide. Highly recommended

Lieze picked us up at our house in a AC modern and comfortable Minivan.
She was very friendly, knowledgeable and a good sense of humor. We have not just learned more about the making of wine, but also more about the history of South Africa in general. All of the 3 wineries welcomed us with a personal approach and even were willing to change some of the to be tasted wines. The lunch at the Tokara estate was fabulous with even a better view. Great value for money.
I would highly recommend doing this trip if you are willing to spend a little bit more.

To have our own private wine guide was for us the perfect and most personal way to take in the Stellenbosch feeling

We had a wonderful day in the company of our private guide Louw who picked us up 9.30 AM sharp and drove us around Stellenbosch until 5.30 PM and showed us four very different wineries as well as a quick glimpse of the inner city and the university campus. Of the 150 wineries, we visited the following four, 1: Hartenberg, 2: L’Avenir, 3: Glenelly and 4: Waterford. All quality wine-yards with absolutely beautiful settings in the raw nature with open gardens, stunning lakes and mountains. We had very high expectations for the tour and our private guide, and Louw with this warm, knowledgeable and witty personality fully lived up, so big recommendations to everyone who was to go out on an exclusive wine tasting in the area. The only downside to it all was the price. A bit too pricey when lunch and wine were not included at the third stop, as well as the red wine at Waterford was a bit too warm for our tasting, taking into the consideration that it was a hot 30+ degree day. All our best, Christina & Keyvan.

Highly Recommend: great guide, wine and scenery

Louw was from the area and provided a real personal approach to the tour. Great sense of humor and wouldn’t have been the same without him. Wine was good, lunch scenery was beautiful. Highly recommend.
