Over two hours of non stop pampering. Was a lovely experience and my therapist was very sweet…best massage I’ve ever had thank you. Husband loved it too….first time he’s had a hamam. Great value for money too!

Couples package for £110, 2225 Lira: Sauna, Turkish bath, heel rub, mud rub, de-stress massage. We we worried they would rush all the parts, but they really did take their time to make sure we got the best of everything: 1hr 40m scheduled but we were in there for nearly 2hr 30m.

The staff were so polite and friendly. Mahri (the lady who sorts out all bookings) was so helpful to us and made sure that we had everything we needed. Me and my wife had a turkish hammam, massage and facial treatments and they were excellent. The hammam baths were so relaxing and the staff members who performed them (Ozgur, Mega and Julie) were very thorough and knew what they were doing. The massage was also the best we have ever had. Mahri made our experience so lovely that we came back 3 times.

NOTE: I’m writing this review as a professional massage therapist who runs her own business in London’s 5* hotels, and has extensive knowledge of the industry.
My partner and I had mixed feelings about our experience at Sanctuary Spa.
Customer service prior to our visit via email was prompt, polite and helpful. We were welcomed by a lovely lady who asked us to complete a consultation form (extremely important to know any and all health related issues that may impact upon the type of treatment you can give to a client, and any adaptations you might need to make.) We were also given some beautiful apple tea (Elma Chai) and refreshingly cold water. A lovely beginning we felt :-) The lady also explained that the hammam (bath) would be done by male therapists, and the massages by two female therapists from Bali. Although it would have been my personal preference to have a female therapist for the bath, I felt comfortable as my partner was with me… I probably would not have gone ahead if I was on my own.
We enjoyed the sauna for around 10 minutes and were then directed out by our therapists to the hammam.
The bath was extremely good and the male therapist I had was kind, warm, professional and made me feel at ease. He used a wide range of techniques that really helped my aching body and made me relax. My partner also said he enjoyed his experience and that the therapist was equally good :-) During the bath experience we were also given more cold water and nice sweet juice. A lovely touch to make sure we were staying hydrated throughout.
We then moved onto our massages. We were greeted by one therapist and brought into the couples massage room. They were both friendly and welcoming. I was then instructed to take my bikini top off, and keep my pants on, while my partner was told to take his underwear off “because it’s easier for you as a man.” This is simply not true and he should never have been asked to remove his underwear and lay naked. It might not have been so bad if the therapists had actually afforded us privacy to dress down, however they both stayed in the room and only slightly held up the towels for us. I’m sorry to say that this, as a professional in this specific industry, is completely unacceptable. It shows poor training of therapists and a lack of professionalism. In professional massage therapy we only ever expose the areas of the body we are treating and underwear is to be worn at all times, especially by male clients, to ensure privacy and dignity is maintained. It is extremely unusually to be told to remove your bottom half underwear. About 4-5 times throughout our treatments the therapists, as other reviews have said, we’re talking, whispering and giggling in their language. It became distracting for me personally, and I felt disappointed that the etiquette surrounding massage therapy just simply wasn’t there :-( however, it is also important to say that the therapists did use some good techniques and we were relaxed afterwards. The treatment style should also have been more akin to Swedish massage, but instead was more typical of traditional Balinese massage. Not necessarily a bad thing but, we would have preferred the treatment style we booked. The therapists also left the room without telling us what was happening. It was also a shame that we had to walk from the treatment room, across the reception area and to a sink to wash the masks off ourselves. Traditionally, warmed mitts are used to remove a face mask in the treatment room and moisturiser/sun cream applied after. We expected a similar level of service from the massage therapists as we received during the hammam experience. It is due to these unprofessional behaviours from the massage therapists only, that we’ve given 3 stars.
In summary…
Customer Service = Very good
Hammam (bath) = Great, and highly recommend
Massages = Avoid and go somewhere else

From the entrance you feel the warm and professional welcoming! We choose a couple treatments at the spa and massages that ended with a nice clay face mask. Many thanks to Mega, she took care of me from the beginning to the end, making sure that I’m feeling comfortable all the time.
I returned the next day also, for the skin care, where I choose the Anti-wrinkles treatment which was amazing as well.
You must go , promise will not regret, your skin will shine and you will feel like a new born! Such a good experience!

Wij hebben voor een koppelspakket gekozen. Handdoekken en slippers kregen we daar. We kregen lekkere appelthee en water. De turkse massage begon met een scrub, daarna werden we helemaal gewassen met zeep en schuim, zelfs ons haar werdt gewassen met shampoo. Dit was onze eerste hamam ervaring. Bedankt Kursat en Julia! Daarna hebben we voor een bali massage gekozen, was heel relaxt. Als laatst kregen we nog een gezichtsmasker. We zijn helemaal verwendt. Zeker aan te raden en zeker met deze prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding.

Me and my wife went for a couple massage. The spa was very clean and everbody was friendly. They gave us towels and slippers. While waiting we were offered apple tea and cold water. Entering the hamam the atmosphere changed immediately. We had to lay on the hamam stone which was warm. The massage started with a whole body scrub, then they massaged us while using foam and soap. Afterwords they washed our whole body, they even washed our hair. Special thanks to Kursat and Julia for their great effords. After the first treatment we got some apple tea and water again. This time we entered a room where got our Bali massage. It was a very relaxing hour. We finished with a mud mask. It was a great experience for a nice price, would recommend it!

OK so, this was mine and my partners first turkish bath and massage, so we decided to go for the couples package at £110. I later found that this was a little pricey for what we got however, that's down to personal choice.
I had never felt comfortable enough to get a turkish bath/massage as you feel quite vulnerable in just swimwear or less! However, the turkish bath was amazing and the men make you feel really relaxed and are respectful. I felt like I had new skin afterwards and they are very thorough with their routine. We also had a full clay body mask which was included in the price and a foot scrub.
We didn't like the massage unfortunately and again, may be down to personal taste. It was more painful than relaxing and I had to tell the ladies to be more gentle.
I forgot my bank card and asked if they did bank transfer. At the end of the treatment the man on reception said it was OK for me to bring the money another day. I felt that was very trusting and I was very grateful for this. You wouldn't get that kind of trust in the UK!
Overall, I would return but for the turkish bath only.

I am always wary where I book in for a massage as I have had a few bad experiences, however me and my wife went to sanctuary spa and I couldn’t have been more pleased with our experience. They were so welcoming from the start and made us feel so relaxed as soon as we walked in, the massage was the best massage I’ve ever had. I already am booked in for another, 100% would recommend. They go above and beyond.
