Everything was well organized. Everything on time, our Guide in Colonia did a great tour and taught us on all the history behind Colonia.

The driver picked us at promptly at 7:00 a.m. for the fast ferry to Colonia. Nicolas was also there to return us to the hotel. The fast ferry takes about an hour to cross the Rio de la Plata from Puerto Madero and an hour back. The immigration lines to leave Argentina are not fast but they are manageable. Once you get through immigration on the Argentina side, you have to go the Uruguay side in the same terminal to have your passport stamped. This is the procedure leaving and entering both countries.
Our guide, Alejandra, met us once we had cleared customs in Uruguay. She is a fountain of good and useful information on the country and on Colonia itself. The tour of little Colonia was excellent and Alejandro gave us sufficient time on our own to enjoy the beautiful day, just wandering around, eating lunch and sightseeing.

Not much to see in colonia. Not worth the cost of the tour. The picture in the marketing literature is totally bogus. A few 17th century walls and that’s about it. Definitely nothing to see for a full day and $230!!!!

Friends who have visited Buenos Aires told me not to miss a trip to Colonia, Uruguay, if I could work it into my schedule and that was great advice. From walking cobblestone streets and exploring spaces that date to the 1500's with my great guide Ruth to a fabulous lunch at Charco Bistro to interesting shopping (next year's Christmas is looking good for my family), this was a perfect add to my time in South America. I highly recommend both this high-quality tour company and Colonia if you have the time - you won't regret it.

Absolutely loved our day in Colonia. All of the logistics were seamless and ensured that we could just relax and enjoy. Such a beautiful place! Out guide was informative and personal. Good balance of guided information and free exploration.

Nice experience to have a quit small group tour of Colonia. Nice pace not rushed to just get it done. Very informative guide. She explained things, answered questions well. She also talked about the country as well so it was a well rounded tour. The ferry ride was nice as well. Allow enough time to get on the ferry as there are a lot of people getting on the ferry. I sat in the general sitting area so I could experience the daily local travelers. Lots of places to eat in Colonia and the food I had was very good. A day for me was just the right amount of time.

We had a wonderful day in Colonia! We were picked up at the hotel on time, we took a fast ferry and Alex the guide in Colonia was great. Then we have free time for us. It was an unforgettable day!
