My wife and I are avid kayakers around our home in northern Michigan. We are probably spoiled by the wealth of small and large lakes around us. During a recent visit to the Scottsdale area, we participated in the kayaking trip on Saguaro Lake hosted by the Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch. From the moment we arrived at the Guest Ranch, the personnel were delightful and informative. After a brief van ride, we launched our sit on top kayaks into the lake. We enjoyed a beautiful afternoon on the water, seeing the magnificent scenery and learning quite a bit about the area from our very informative guide. Although we did not see any major wildlife (only two active squirrels on the banks), it was a glorious experience. We will definitely repeat this one and would highly recommend it to anybody interested in touring a scenic area from the water.

I was signed up for the Salt River kayak trip, but the water was too low so they offered me any of the other trips running Monday. I chose the 3-hr paddle on Lake Saguaro and it was perfect! Upon my arrival to the ranch, I was greeted warmly and shown around. From office staff to my driver/guide Ryan, everyone was super friendly and helpful. Ryan was great, pointing out scenery and wildlife along the drive to the lake, then telling/showing me where to paddle for the best views and how long it would take. The day was gorgeous - a bit chilly at first, so I thought I’d only do 2 hrs, but once I got out on the water, I realized I would want to stay the entire three hours. (My neoprene leggings were perfect for the weather.) With a quick phone call to the ranch from my kayak, Lydia arranged for my pick up time to change. Ryan was waiting for me when I got back to shore. It was a fabulous trip, and I’ll definitely return for a river tour.

We had an early January morning start time, and even thgouh the temps were on the cold side, once we started paddling and were out in the sunshine, it was just gorgeous all the way around! We would highly recommend this adventure to anyone!

We went on a bachelorette trip and it was amazing!! A long time to paddle slowly, stop at another bank, and see the beautiful canyon! It accommodated our 8 person group and was nice and open for whatever we wanted to do!

memorable and stunning views. the ranch took good care of us to and from the lake and the kayaks were easy to use and super stable.

Beautiful scenery ! Great instruction from team prior to hitting the water . They were flexible as we were late ( ish) due to traffic

The views were incredible. It is a bit of work at the end but was very worth it. I loved the seeing otters and wild horses along the way. Would definitely do it again!

We had an amazing time! We kayaked down the river and saw some beautiful scenery! We highly recommend taking the Salt River Kayak. It was so much fun!!!

This was a self guided tour. The shuttle driver was great. He told us interesting fun facts on the way down, got us all set up and even gave us a push into the water so we didn’t have to. He also gave us a great suggestion of where to go, and the view was amazing!
