This was my first time rafting and didn't know what to expect. Ended up enjoying it to the fullest and even wishing it was more challenging :)) Just go for it!

Pablo and Edwin were great guides who made us feel safe and in good hands!! We had some first time rafters in our group and they had a wonderful experience! Many fun class 3 and 4 rapids, not the most intense rafting for people with experience, but a good way to spend time! Definitely wear bug spray and sunscreen. Wet suits and shoes were provided - IMPORTANT - we had to be there the night before to give them some info and get our sizes. We didn’t get that message until 5:30pm Friday when we were on the bus to Baños before our 9am rafting. They stayed open late (til about 9:30pm) for us, so it was fine, but just a bit of a hassle. Overall, I’d definitely recommend it for a beginner to be with Pablo and Edwin! Marco was a bit more carefree which meant some more fun but also some dangerous moments like when he suggested hoping out of the raft to ride the last rapid… It was fine in the end and my group members had a blast with their guides. We all agreed the views were gorgeous and we made fun memories!

They wanted to massively overcharge me. Wanted to charge me 80$ for a kayaking tour joining the raft group, that I got for 30$ at another agency, and 180$ for a private kayaking tour that I got for 60$ at another agency. Ridiculous.

Could you have the two of us be matched up with two or three others? I've rafted the Colorado River through the Grand Canyon twice, and I would really like to raft some white water while on my stay in Ecuador.

We where there during March- April and it was all good. I think it doesn't matter as long as you don't go there during wet session because the river might be to strong then.
