Wow! This was so much more than we expected. Freddy’s tour was very informative and Freddy tried so hard to get us the best sightings and the best photos/videos through the scope. So enjoyable, we saw 4 sloths, monkeys, agoutis, a peccary, an armadillo, a coati, leaf cutter ants, baby iguana as well as lots of interesting birds. There’s no way we would have spotted the majority of the animals on our own. Thank you Freddy!!

Very nice pleasure meeting you, we had a great time in our rainforest nature tour, we got to see very good stuff, we try to do the best we can we try with all our customers get the best and unforgettable memories also get great pictures through the telescope.!

Freddy was a phenomenal guide! His knowledge of the area and the animals led to many fascinating sights. Hacienda Baru is a beautiful park and full of animals while not being full of people. Freddy told us in great detail about the behaviors of the animals we saw as well as informed us about the local plant life and insects.
We saw a whole troop of monkeys at a not far distance as well as many birds, insects, a couple sloths, and wild pigs. Thank you so much for everything!

We only booked the trip the night before and are very thankful for Freddy’s flexibility and his responsiveness! The tour was awesome, we learned a lot about the history of the place and of course about the animals (also about animals we didn’t expect to be so interesting). It was worth every dollar because we would have never been able to find all the animals, especially the sloths, or learn about the different smells and their meaning.
My personal highlight was the pregnant sloth and that we could take photos through Freddy‘s ocular. Otherwise we would not have seen the sloths face because they are usually up high in the trees.
I also have to say that Freddy was very open minded, friendly, humorous and clever. Hacienda Barú has also been a good decision, as there are not too many people and you can take your time to feel the jungle.
Thanks Freddy, we would always do the tour with you again!

Thanks for taking your time and share this review great review we appreciate this, we had a great morning and i was worried about not finding a sloth 🤣but I did, we saw several sloth that morning, it was not pressure you guys coming from Germany to see a sloth 🦥🤣.! Always we try to do our best we can, we try all our customers take our tour and we try to make an unforgettable experience.!

This is the highlight of our time in manuel antonio. Freddy took us through the heart of Hacienda Baru and gave us excellent and intriguing information on the park and it’s inhabitants. The start of the tour was memorable for various colonies of ants he pointed out. I will never see an ant the same way because of Freddy. They are truly amazing insects, watching them carry 3-4 times their body weight worth of leaves and other building materials. Their colony organization is truly a marvel. And of course, Freddy found us a slew of sloths (a total of 5 including a baby) hanging in the trees. We came across a troupe of Coati, saw several peccaries (wild pigs) and finished the tour with an up and close encounter of the famed capuchin monkey troupe led my legendary alpha “Fidel Castro.” A truly memorable experience. We could not recommend Freddy more.

Freddy gave a very personalized and great tour. He offered to come early to drive us to breakfast, which we did and greatly enjoyed. He is very knowledgeable about the preserve, and had a lot of information about its history and wildlife he was able to share with us- he literally grew up there! The walk was easy, but definitely follow the closed toe shoe and light covered clothing recommendations. We were able to see a lot of wildlife- pizote, toucans, two and three toed sloths, leaf cutter ants, and Freddy was able to help us get some up close views and photos. 10/10 would recommend.

My wife and I went to Haciend Baru and also the waterfall tour. Freddie is very kind, knowledgable, and an exceptional guide. We saw many animals including sloths, monkeys, various birds, toucans, etc. He was even able to site a sloth with her baby! He is also very knowledgable of the surrounding ecosystem. The waterfall was a blast! We went for a walk and arrived at a beautiful waterfall that you could slide down! We had a great day and it was a highlight of our trip!!

We had a great time in Hacienda baru we got to see sloth which is the main goal, about the waterfall yes it’s amazing place to go for a swim after one amazing nature tour.

I found Freddy thru TripAdvisor by chance. I was looking for private tours that I thought my husband could handle. He has cancer and we are here between his 3 week Chemo treatments. Freddy picked us up in Manual and we so enjoyed our conversations in the car to and from about Costa Rica. The park/ tour was wonderful we did have a family of four meet us there. There were very few people in the park so it was very quiet. We saw two mama sloths with there little ones, We saw 3 different types of monkeys and one group there was probably about 50 of them. We saw a few rare birds and Freddy gave us quite a bit of info on the ants. It was a wonderful time and would highly recommend. Do not go without a guide you may not see or know their sounds to look for them.

I happened to find Freddy's name when I was looking for a professional private guide in Manuel Antonio. He told me about Hacienda Baru instead, which is 30 min south from Quepos, and we're able to see same species of wildlife as the park with 98% less people. And he was totally right about this wonderful quiet and private tour! He is so knowledgable about the animals, insects and birds, and great at taking some fantastic close up pictures of them. Highly recommended.

A wonderful tour. We saw several sloth including a mama sloth with "twins" which is rare. And Birds!
We decided on a private tour and we're so happy we did. Freddy was so knowledgeable and made it fun. Without him we would have missed half of what we saw. Highly recommend Freddy.

I can be a bit sceptical of organized tours as we've had great ones and disappointing ones. My wife checked out Freddy, reading many of his 5-star reviews and thought we should give him a try. Okay this guy exceeded my expectations greatly. He picked us up at 8:00 in the morning and within a few minutes it was apparent that Freddy was going to provide a fun and insightful experience. He took us to Hacienda Baru instead of the popular and often crowded Manuel Antonio national park which was a great call. No one was there...just lots of wildlife. We did a three hour stroll through the park and Freddy was just a wealth of knowledge on everything from the monkeys and sloths to the bugs on the ground and trees. Super interesting the entire time. When finished he offered to stop by one of his favorite local restaurants which was fun to experience true Costa Rican fare outside of the tourist world, then back to our place. The price was very reasonable for a private tour. BTW Freddy is a licensed tour guide through the state certification process which is neither easy nor cheap--not just someone masquerading as an expert--the real deal. Can't recommend this enough. You won't be sorry
