Me and my friend booked the tour, we are not an experienced hikers and we thought it will be an easier way to do an overnight tour. We couldn't be more wrong!
They sent as a message with a video of entering to the camp, said we will get a map and also a radio, food for the first day and in the camp food for the second day. They sent us the travel agency adreess from where we depart. They said come 30 minutes earlier to ask questions and take equipment.
In the first day the weather was rainy with possible snow, we asked in the office if it safe to go anyway, and the lady in the agency said 'yes sure'. Moreover the lady in the desk did not gave us no map and no explanations for the trek, no where the trail starts, no how the trail marked and which signs to look for. She also gave us two bags of poor food and said that actually this is for the whole 2 days. She didn't tell us who will meet us in capm and where. We almost thought not to go, which we truly regret we didn't.
We took the shuttle which dropped us about 17 km from the city. It wasn't clear how to find the starting point, and actually we didn't find it, only with the help of other hikers who noticed we are starting to walk in a wrong direction to nowhere. They helped us to find our trail and told us which marks to follow (again the agency did not tell us any of that). We did not enjoy the roud, since we were too terrified from the situation, we walked for 4 hours completely alone with no other hikers around in our trail, probably because of the poor weather. Somehow we made it to the camp. The agency sent us a video of how to get to the camp, we did not find that roud we came in a different one and at first we thought that we might not actually in the correct place. In the camp we did not find anyone from the agency and no sign. We started to ask the other people there and no one knew. Also we realized that the camp is actually free, the other hikers saw the video of the roud and told us that we didn't find it because it is actually the roud from the opposite direction! (we came from El pilar and they sent us the roud from El Chalten). It start snowing, and the other hikers in camp said that if we are not sure who and when we meet it will be safer if we head back to El Chalten and not stay in camp. So we actually did not even had the overnight, we payed the price for a shuttle and two poor food bags, and really not a trek we could enjoy. And no one from the agency ever contacted us to ask why we were not in camp and to make sure we made it back safe, you know just as a human being not for the money.
We took it because we are inexperienced hikers and we thought it will be a softer way to do an overnight trek. It really wasn't. If you are considering taking this, you are probably like us, then please don't. Just take the free poplar road from El Chalten and if you want to camp, do it yourself with a rented equipment. I really feel that we are lucky we made it back to El Chalten safe with the kindness of other hikers at the start of the trail and in the camp, not thanks to the organizers.

Hello Grandt...
We are really sorry about the experience you had on our 2-day Self guided tour in El Chalten.
Our local office informed us you were given all the instructions and also recommended following a guided group of 4 people as you will be able to ask for indications from the guide there.
We assume you reached the wrong campsite (probably the public one that belongs to the National Park) as our camp has staff waiting for our passengers.
Regarding the lunch box given, this was just for hiking time. At our camp, we were waiting for you with a hot dinner.
After our local office received the information about you missing from the camp, they searched for you until they found out you were staying at Hostel Familia de Campo.
As you mentioned, perhaps this tour was not the best option for someone with no hiking experience, as this is a self-guided hike.
Once again, we are really sorry to hear that you couldn´t enjoy the experience that this tour brings to our passengers.
We hope we will be able to offer you a customized tour according to your experience and expectations in the near future.
Also, pls bear in mind we have already processed the tour refund as per your request.
Best regards
Ayelen

We are considering this 2 days one night self guided hiking for Fitz Roy. Questions: 1, do we have to bring our owner sleeping bag? Q2, how far in miles from camping ground to sunrise view point, what is its elevation gain? Thanks.

Buenas! A qué hora se regresa a El Chaltén el segundo día? Me marcho en onibús a las 20:00 y me gustaría saber si me da tiempo a estar a esa hora en la terminal de El Chalten!
Muchas gracias de antemano.
