Muchos dos millions!! to the awesome Camino Ways team who organised my first and solo Camino (Portuguese Coast) starting in beautiful Baiona. Terrific hotels including 'rural casas' with Michelin star food, home made wine, comfortable daily distances for a 65yo. Superb coastal scenery changing to picture postcard walks through little villages and forest paths...
The team were so professional in providing all the required info and supporting material including preparing for the Camino. The bag transfers were a peace of mind, only having to carry a light back pack with essentials..
Can't wait for the team to organise my next walk!

Just completed the Camino de Santiago with Camino Ways and it was a great experience. Accommodations and luggage transportation was very good and reliable. Would recommend this agency!

We walked the Potuguese Espiritual Route. Great experience, but CaminoWays service fell short on almost a daily basis.
I went with my best friend and we both eat Gluten Free, one by choice and myself by necessity. Fewer than 50% of hotels provided gluten free selections for us. They simply expected us to eat the limited options that we could.
The breakfast in Redondela was completely inadequate. We ended up with a small cup of yogurt and a piece of fruit.
Two of the hotels are very far off the Camino Route. We were given a phone number to call for the hosts to pick us up. The first place didn't answer the phone so we had to hire our own taxi to get us there.
during the organizing of the trip with Camino Ways, they indicated that dinners at the remote hotels were included in the price. The hosts indicated that they weren't and you're so far off the beaten track that you have no option but to partake of their expensive dinners, instead of being able to find a more reasonably priced pilgrim's menu somewhere else
3 out of the 7 walking days, there are no services (for food or bathrooms) for a very long time. Caminoways only made note of this on one such occasion.
They provide you with a map of your route that you can use offline. But you have to keep switching back and forth between this map and either another Google map or an app to actually figure out where you need to go. Their map is crap, you are better off using one of the many apps that are available.
Hotel Rosalia in Padron is a dump with unfriendly, aggressive employees.
Casa Rosalia, our hotel in Teo / Brion was full of mold.
The only service they provided that worked out well was the luggage transfer, and this they hired out to another company.
Save yourself some aggravation and let another company organize your trip.

Thank you for sharing your experience. I’m truly sorry our service did not meet your expectations. We take your feedback seriously and apologise for the issues you faced with gluten-free meals, remote hotel arrangements, and route information. Please note that some of the Camino routes are more rural than others and therefore Gluten-Free food options can often be limited unfortunately.
I understand how disappointing it must have been to deal with inadequate meals and the inconvenience of unreachable hosts. That shouldn't have happened regarding the unexpected dinner charges, and we’ll address this with our partners. The condition of some hotels is unacceptable, and we’ll review these accommodations.

We were a group of 8, 4 couples and when I originally started planning this I felt very unsure going to a country without a guide. Camino Ways answered all and any questions I had in such a comforting way. My huband and I do a lot of traveling and this was honestly one of the best experience ever. Everthing was so well organized and prepared by Camino Ways. Every stop we got to they were expecting us and went out of their way to make us comfortable and happy. There are a few towns we would like to have stayed in a little longer because we didn't have much time to explore the little towns. I can't wait to do the next one and I have absolutely no doubt I will be doing it through #CaminWays

Camino Ways helped us with the luggage and hotels. They chose very good hotels, and the one in Santiago de Compostela was an experience for life. We loved staying in a monastery/hotel. Camino Ways gave us all the information necessary before our trip. They have a very good website where we can also find a lot of informations about the Caminos.

Caminoways provided a 5-star solo walking experience for me with excellent accommodations and highly responsive customer support. Seeing your luggage in the lobby or reception at your accommodations after a hike when checking always comforts me that I have arrived at the right place that afternoon or evening.

I traveled on the Camino with 10 others from my hiking club. If I was to do it again, I'd book all my own lodging. We paid for the Superior Collection of hotels and out of 8 lodging places, only 3 were of the Superior Collection (for a much higher price). They should not offer something they can't deliver on. In the end, after much arguing, I got $70 back per person. I was put in a few pretty rough looking hotels; one was a smoking room. If lodging is important to you, map out your own route and pick your own hotels. You'll really be OK.
Then you won't be surprised. The Portuguese Camino is well traveled and by picking up a few maps, you can figure which towns to stay in. Most places offer a free breakfast and you can find your own dinners locally. The Camino Ways people state they offer maps and online support, but to be honest, we never used it. There are services everywhere and folks are so kind in helping you out with whatever you need. Lots of tour companies are making all kinds of money off tourists. Don't be afraid to book your own lodging and meals directly with the hotels. That way, no surprises. Great trip by the way. Trying to think of something positive to say about Camino Ways. Hmmm..... we did have a couple of great hotels. 3 of the 8 that were nice. Trip support was good with maps but you can pull them from Google

Working with caminoway.com was a wonderful experience. Everything went smoothly and as planned. We wanted to make two changes and it was done easily via email. I would highly recommend this organization for planning a trip on the El Camino.

The CaminoWays team from customer service to our guide, Tami made the whole experience pleasant and memorable.
Made couple of adjustments with our group from booking till the actual walk without any issues. Everyone was readily available to assist and make all the minor changes we needed.
The whole Camino was exhausting but all worth it.

I walked 6 days from Baiona to Santiago. It was a wonderful experience. CaminoWays was very organized from first pick up at my hotel in Porto. Hotels were in excellent locations along the Camiño. They were very clean but modest. I would have preferred more than basic hotels but maybe this is not possible on this route. My luggage was transferred daily and was always at the hotels when I arrived - went perfectly. My transport from Santiago to Porto airport was great, very nice car and on time. I used the WhatsApp number once for a question and they were very responsive. I recommend CaminoWays to anyone considering the pilgrimage- they were very helpful, everything was organized and online and they spoke to me on the phone 3 times to help in advance with my questions.
