I personally don’t know, but if you go to their website they have years worth of daily siting logs so you can see when you are mostly likely to see whales.

Children of all ages are welcome aboard the boats and they have life vests. Fast Cat is the exception... I think you must be 8.

They have 8 am, 11 am, and 2 pm. Your best bet is to book the 8 am because they do not go out later unless it fills up. Also, sightings are better earlier in the day and you will have a much smoother boat ride.

We only saw dolphins when we went however, earlier that week they saw whales.. so honestly it just depends.

I suggest giving the folks at this vendor a phone call, if you are wanting a specific time. I think you have to select a time when you book, but they sometimes have to shift the times slightly based upon weather and the seasons. I booked based upon a time listed, and then they quickly confirmed that time back with me, long before my event date. The vendor is absolutely great and you will really enjoy their events. They are professional and know what they are doing. I'd use them again, for sure.

I know that the blue whale is more often seen in the fall months, and the grey whale is more often seen in the spring months. but there may also be a better rule of thumb on that. In Sept 2018 we were able to see a blue whale up close and that was pretty amazing. I would recommend calling the Captain Dave's folks as they were really helpful and will be better able to share info with you.
