Very small onboard restroom, but serviceable. They load right on time, so on-time is fine. There's a lot of neat stuff to look at while you're waiting, so it's good to get there early to check it out. Take seasickness medicine before you get on!!!

I don’t know if they would allow a dog. There were a lot of good sized swells, enough that a few people had to lie down. I don’t know if dogs get seasick.

The captain and crew make every effort to get you in position to see whales. The best suggestion is to follow the online presence of each of the companies. (Facebook, webpage, Twitter) They give daily reports on the wildlife sightings. The three hour tour was perfect for us.

May may be too late for the gray whale northern migration (although sometimes a few may still be coming through) but it should be the beginning of the humpback whale sightings. Also, in the spring our afternoons can be pretty windy, so you may want to schedule an AM whale watch for smoother water. There's also a chance for the sighting of an orca and occasionally a blue whale, but these are not as predictable.

I have only been out in May. My wife and daughter went out early September and it was good not great. You need to check the migration patterns of the whales. You will always see something but some months are better than others

There are still a lot of humpbacks and occasionally a blue whale. It’s too early for the gray whale migration but you should still have a great chance of seeing these wonderful animals in October.
