Great experience with captain Donnie. Took the 4 teenage kids around, got to snorkel, use the paddle board. Also saw the blue angels practicing. Great afternoon

We had a great time on our boat tour! We saw a lot of marine life. We snorkeled at the sand bar. Absolutely beautiful and relaxing. Donnie was a great captain and very knowledgeable. We highly recommend taking this boat trip!!

A great few hours on the water, Capt. Donnie was very nice and accommodating, handling miscommunications on our part with grace. Four kids had a great time!

My wife and I had a great time on the water with Captain Donnie showing us the reef and one of the sand bars. He did mention that they can't always go to the reef if the wind is too strong. I have to admit that we would have been disappointed had we not been able to see the reef (the reason we booked this snorkeling tour) We lucked out with the weather I guess but it might be wise to ask ahead if you are hoping to snorkel to avoid any disappointments. The reef was amazing, we saw tons of fish. Donnie was a great captain and host. We had a very relaxing and enjoyable day!

did not get what it says on the post snorkeling in the reef if they will not take you there then they should say that.

We are sorry to hear that you feel that you were "fooled". We are an honest company and we strive to give our guests the best experience possible. It is not always possible to snorkel the reef due to wind or weather conditions. Last week Hurricane Ian impacted Key West and the waters off shore. When storms happen it will stir things up under water. This decreases visibility and makes it sometimes unsafe to be snorkeling on the reef. The safety of our guests is our number one priority. We are not in control of the weather.

The boat trip was a truly magical experience! We saw the most beautiful water, mangroves, and wildlife and took incredible pictures!! Liz, the captain, made the trip so much fun and was so knowledgeable. I would 100% recommend this charter to anyone visiting Key West!!!

My friends and I had a blast on this charter! Elizabeth (our captain) was highly knowledgable about the outdoors and made our experience that much more memorable. I would highly recommend this charter while in the keys, I have been on a few other charters and this was the best yet!

There is a secret world out in the backcountry (the Gulf of Mexico) of mangrove islands and turquoise water over clean white sand. People who come to Key West expecting ocean beaches with reef snorkeling 2 feet out from shore should realize that this pristine world in the gulf -- not our meager ocean beachfront -- is the great place to be in the Keys. In fact, it's one of the great places anywhere, a place to be in nature. If you're in this area at low tide, an occasional sandbar rises from the water; even at high tide, the water is quite shallow and you can plunk down beach chairs and umbrellas in the sand. It is magical. I'm a Key Wester but I myself only discovered this world recently. I've been out several times this year on different boats, some friends' boats, some charters. Of the charters, Blue Chi is absolutely my favorite and Capt. Donnie the best captain I've been out with. The boat has shade, which is essential out on the water. the sun can be brutal. And many boats don't have it. Also, it leaves from Stock Island, which is a good setting off point, saving you a lot of boating time to the mangroves and sandbars. Tourists should realize that this is not a reef area and they won't see many colorful tropical fish, like they will out in the ocean. It is a much more subtle, subdued underwater environment, but snorkeling is still magical. You just shouldn't expect a technicolor reef. These sandbars are where locals go for fun, and they can be very crowded on weekends. People are partying. If you want solitude, go on a week day and tell your captain exactly what you want. Donnie is especially responsive, energetic, and pleasant to be with, not intruding himself but eager to get you the experience you want. Jacki, who does the booking, couldn't be better or more helpful. This is a small operation and to my mind the best.

Had a perfect afternoon on the water with Captain Donnie. The overall experience was 10/10. This was our second time booking with Blu Chi- we didn’t think it could top the last time, but it did! He took us to an island sandbar with crystal clear water. We were able to get out and swim and walk around. We will be back for a third! Thanks Blu Chi!

Not necessarily a snorkeling trip. Saw very few fish. Great place for kids to swim and experience beautiful blue and green water. Our children did get to experience what snorkeling is all about even though there were no fish.
