What a fantastic experience climbing Kilimanjaro with Maua Adventures! Everything was well organized, the guides were so professional, the staff very polite and kind, and the food was wonderful! The guides Omary and Fadhili were always very attentive and careful with us. It was amazing! I highly recommend Maua Adventures and hope to come back! We booked this trip with MauaAdventures and we were so well cared, I could feel like a queen. This trip had no issues, the guides were very well prepared and all the team as well. Because of this, we started to call them as “Dream team”! If you think of going to Kilimanjaro, I strongly recommend them! Price is good and service is amazing! Now I can say I have friends and a family in Tanzania!

Maua Adventures was very good choise. When we hiked on Kilimanjaro we have a very good servise. The guides were very experienced, nice and helpful. The other members of crew were very nice and they provide us perfect servise. We had enoght water, had a lot of meals like 3 times a day, had clean tent. We had the tents always in the best part of the camp, if it was a possible. I means to see sunrise, be close to the toalet, etc. When we were tired, they helped us with daily pack. They were like a family. Before and after the hike the Maua managed for me beautiful trips which I ordered only day before. I visited a safary and also beautiful waterfall and local coffee factory. No problem with everything. And the emploees of the company were very helpful and nice in every situation.

My sister, my friend and I climbed Mount Kilimanjaro with the company Maua Adventures. Choosing this agency was a hit! Already at the stage of arranging the details by e-mail you get a very positive impression of the company. Jackson patiently answered a lot of questions from my side. When we landed in Tanzania, he was already waiting for us at the airport, from where he immediately transported us to the hotel. Our equipment is checked, missing things can be rented on the spot. As for the expedition itself, we were all very impressed with the organisation of the whole team. The guide Omary imposed the pace of the march, telling us various interesting stories on the way. Every day we had our saturation checked and were asked how we were feeling. There were a few emergencies during our expedition and the guys handled each one with ease. You could see the experience in what they do. The meals prepared by Jeremiah were delicious and Chilla the waiter made sure we ate and smiled a lot. The whole team really rose to the occasion. We also received great support during our summit attack. We managed to stand on the roof of Africa! Thank you Maua Adventures for everything.

My husband and I are safely back home from our Kilimanjaro trekking adventure in Tanzania with Maua Adventures. We have been to Tanzania before on safari and this time we were looking for the thrill of trekking up Africas highest peak. Communication with Maua Adventures was smooth. J. Charles our contact person was super! His information and advice on the available options led us to the Lemosho route.
Omary our guide was at hand to welcome us when we arrived in Moshi Tanzania by shuttle from Kenya. He also helped us to get a number of items that we required from their office at no extra cost.
The actual trekking is unforgettable, traversing through different habitats and terrains as Omary answered all our questions as he told us so much about Kilimanjaro. We had an awesome time with the whole team despite the harsh weather at high altitude. Boy! It was great to have the right equipment and eat hot food prepared by Jeremiah.
It was such a wonderful moment when we both made it to the summit on March 7 at dawn, sharing such an unforgettable once in a lifetime experience with my soulmate.
Thank you Maua Adventures for making our dream come true.

Maua Adventure is not another company specialized in taking you to the top of Mount Kilimanjaro; Maua does not intend to squeeze every last dollar you have to climb to the top; Maua are not only professionals and porters. I climbed a mountain and brought to Europe not only the experience but many good friends from Maua who are still in contact today.
I must highlight the work of Jackson and the 3 guides (Edher, Fasilli and Yambo) who as professionals not only tell you where you are and what you can see at a certain time in the hills of Kili but also the relationship is so close that you get unintentionally and easily and simply to friendship. Without them, the climb would be much harder.
But I would like to mention the porters in a special way. They are the logistics and soul of the entire team. The strength and the image for those of us who ascend and believe that we know about the mountains. Maua has and takes care of its excellent porters and not only do they not support your backpacks and absurd requests but they also smile at you when you pass and give you the Yambo Mambo you need to climb. I call that IMPETU and COURAGE.
Thank you all for your support, help but above all, FRIENDSHIP.

A group of 9 of us climbed Mount Kliimanjaro with Maua Adventures. We all successfully reached the top and had an amazing experience from the moment we started planning the trip 6 months earlier to the last moment when we said goodbye to the amazing team! During the planning stage of the trip we had hundreds of questions that Jackson answered patiently and thoroughly! Once on the mountain, we had amazing amenities provided by the team: comfortable walk in tents, private toilets and even a shower tent! The food was something we all waited for eagerly every day, having 3 warm meals, including hot soup which was AMAZING! During the hikes, the guides worked with us on finding the right Pole-Pole pace (slowly-slowly). The guides paid very close attention to our health. They performed a health check every night when they took our oxygen blood level, heart rate, and asked us about any symptoms of altitude sickness. That was very reassuring and allowed me to push myself more on the slopes, knowing that I am in good hands. One of the afternoons the team put on an amazing presentation of song and dance where they each introduced themselves to us! It was so fun and moving to watch! They were all so talented and genuinely excited to perform for us! One of the slogans of the songs was "One Team, One Dream!" On summit night each of us had a personal guide or a porter assigned who carried our backpack and patiently guided us to reach the top. My guide was Aden who encouraged me to keep going when I was ready to give up... Saying goodbye to the team was a little emotionala1. When you put your life in somebody's hands for a week, you feel you have known them for a lot longer time and it is hard to say goodbye. We felt that each of the crew went above and beyond in their hard work to get us to the top and back safe and happy! The memories created with Maua Adventures will remain some of my best memories for life! I hope more people discover and choose this company that is very thorough, offers a really affordable price, and creates an unforgettable experience of being one team with one dream!

My husband and I booked with Maua Adventures for our Kiliminjaro trek and safari and traveled in early Oct 2020. We were a little concerned about traveling during COVID but so so happy we did and recommend to anyone considering travel to Tanzania to do it NOW! We had many areas and campgrounds to ourself and the parks were largely empty, allowing you to enjoy the peace and solitude which makes outdoor adventures much more magical.
Jackson ,the owner of Maua, was incredibly prompt with email responses to my questions during booking and extremely helpful and caring with all my decision making. I enjoyed the personal touch and customer service he showed through the emails and hoped that it continued once we arrived there. I can say not only did Maua meet our expectations but they far surpassed everything we had hoped.
The prices at Maua are significantly less than you’ll find through many competitors and many people say that “you get what you pay for” or that some services are less because it is cheaper. I can tell you that 100% this is NOT the case with Maua. This company is totally locally owned and operated which allows them to keep the prices down, instead of paying a US or European owned company which profits from charging double. I’ll tell you that once you see everyone on the mountain there is no real discernible differences, you are hiking the same trails, staying at the same campgrounds and eating the same type of food. At Maua we found everything was really exceptional, between the hotel stays before and after, the incredible food on the mountain which was more plentiful and delicious than we could have dreamed, the equipment, the daily medical checks, compassionate guides, friendly and funny porters, everything! Jackson joined us for the trek and always checked and ensured that everything was going as we had hoped and made sure we had no complaints, he genuinely wanted us to have the trip of a lifetime and we did!

After extensive research and a the use of a spreadsheet to compare 10 different companies, I chose Maua Adventures to do my Kili climb starting January 21,2020. One of the things that really stood out in the beginning was how quickly Jackson, the owner, responded to my questions and concerns. I thought if my whole climb is handled with this professionalism, I won’t be disappointed.......and I wasn’t. From the time I was picked up at the airport by Jackson until the time I was dropped off, I felt pampered and well taken care of.
I chose to do the Lemosho 7 day route and was led by Fadhili (guide) and his crew of 4 (chef, waiter/porter, and 2 other porters). Fadhili was friendly and professional, beginning the night before my climb when he carefully checked all my clothing and equipment to make sure I would be warm and safe, until the final gate, after leading me to a successful summit. Every night after dinner Fadhili met with me to check my oxygen and pulse with his meter, to go over a health questionnaire, and to explain to me what the next days section would be like. I felt very confident that Fadhili was going to take me to the top safety.
The food on the climb was excellent (it’s amazing the meals they cook with the limited resources available). Popcorn or warm roasted peanuts for a snack when you first arrive to camp, hot tea, coffee or cocoa, and a dinner of huge portions with lots of protein and carbs for energy, as well as a selection of fresh vegetables and fresh fruit.
The tent that I was given had more than adequate room and was always kept dry, even though it rained almost every day. They even brought me a bright light run by a battery pack every night as soon as the sun went down. I’m a backpacker and was not use to all these extra comforts and amenities.
I would highly recommend Jackson and Maua adventures. I was so impressed how hard the whole team works to ensure that you have a successful and safe summit.
