The ladies there were very informative, they answered any question we had and was more that glad to share their information, they did not make us feel that we were bothering them. The quilts that were on display were amazing to say the least. I wish there had been a bit more to see, it only took about an hour to stroll thru. Over all it was worth the stop. (1$ off card at our hotel, and also welcome center.)

Even if you aren’t a quilter, this museum is a must see. They have several permanent pieces, but also have rotating displays. The craftsmanship is absolutely amazing! The variety includes miniature quilts to full sized quilts, quilted clothing and “sculptures”. Beyond traditional quilts and quilting techniques, they have several quilts which could almost be described as paintings done with fabric. The contributors have unbelievable talent!

Drove for 3.5 hours and had prepaid reservations only to find it closed for renovations. Should have been mentioned on the website and should not be selling tickets that I now have to figure out how to refund.

We will be happy to provide a refund. We are sorry for any confusion, but our closure was announced well in advance on our website's front page and on all of our social media platforms. In fact our hours of operation specify that "NQM will be CLOSED on the first Monday - Friday of each new year for annual maintenance work and cleaning." The ladies had this as a must see. Lots of talent evident with these works of art. If you have ladies in your group, most will want to see this museum.

There are so many truly unique quilts, designs, and gift shop items. The miniature quilts and the Very Old quilts were just amazing!

An amazing display of classic, historic, & modern quilts. Curator finds quite a mix for varying interests.
Museum has a permanent collection as well as visiting galleries.
The ‘Swing Jackets, ‘ all created by the same African American artist, depicts cultural stories & the struggles of her people.
Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful quilts on display! Award winners everywhere of all types and sizes. No pictures allowed inside, so buy a book if you want to keep the memories alive in the museum gift shop. During the quilt show they have demonstrations of quiltmaking outside the front entrance.

I started quilting a few months and decided to make a 'pilgrimage' to this center of Quilt Art. My friend Beth and I are quilters and our spouses got dragged along. The beauty, artistry and superb craftsmanship of the quilts was appreciated by quilters and non-quilters alike. I am hoping to go back again next year as I understand they are frequently changing their displays.

The NQM was on my bucket list for many years. My best friend and I visited and were not disappointed. The quilts, the stained glass windows of quilts, the staff…everything was fantastic. We spent several hours there and were in awe of the incredible designs and handiwork of the quilt artists. The gentleman inside the exhibit room was most helpful and knowledgeable; he shared information about each quilt and answered our questions. Highly recommend!
