Beautiful grounds. Very strict on timing the tour of the mansion but very well done. No photos allowed due to time constraints except for near the end when the double doors on the top balcony are opened to a magnificent view of the Oak lined laneway. Cabins and grounds are very clean. Somewhat disturbing knowing the history, but it is history. Nice shop that has the absolute best Pralines and Cream liqueur!!

Super tour! Beautiful home. One of the owners gave the tour which made it even greater because she had the knowledge of everything. I would definitely advise this tour to everyone. Loved the history of six generations. Loved all the original furniture and all their personnel belongings. Great to be up close to everything. Thanks for a great tour Susan!

WOW Exactly what I imagined when I thought of taking a tour of a plantation house. The fact that it has remained in the family for this long and is still being maintained by descendants is amazing. Seeing the family mementoes was impressive and heart-warming; I wanted to move in and stay there. Thanks to the family for sharing their world & history with us.

We weren't able to view much of the house mostly all rooms wete off limits closed up just glanced at the rooms we didnt get to walk around the outside explore the field everything was abit expensive would have liked it better of we tour the field to connect with the stories being told at list get our moneies worth

Thank you for visiting. We always encourage visitors to walk the grounds and take photos outdoors. We have had a very wet Spring and perhaps it was raining the day you visited? We do not lead tours of the cane fields as it is an active sugarcane farm and is not safe to do so. As for the interior, the only room not viewable is the kitchen which our family uses daily. While we do not allow visitors to walk into our living quarters upstairs, the doors are open for viewing. As for cost, we are the least expensive of all the plantation home tours while also having more original artifacts to show. Thank you for your honest review so we can better learn how to serve our visitors.

Cette plantation est toujours habitée et c'est la maitresse de maison qui vous accueille. Nous étions seuls et sommes venus à 14h un jeudi sans réservation. Nous avons bénéficié pendant 2 heures d'une visite privée très intéressante (avec un petit jeu de piste pour les enfants). Anecdotes sur la famille d'origine allemande qui s'est établie là au début du XVIIIème siècle et qui est toujours là.
Très bon complément de Laura et Whitney car très différent.

This home and all it’s artifacts from long ago were so cool.. the family is also kin to several famous people.. highly recommend the tours. Not suitable for young kids because of the antiques.

Visited this plantation while staying in the area for a few days and have been to several other plantation tours, this was by far the best. The tour guide Mrs Shaffer also resides there as a 6th generation family member. Her love of both the plantation and history is overwhelming. The history of family members, furnishings and stories of movies filmed there is remarkable. I would love to visit again and she treats everyone very personally and makes you feel very welcome and answers any questions you may have.

This an excellent tour, would recommend this to anyone. I could have spent a whole day looking at all the artifacts including some fantastic quilts and needlework.

I have been on many plantation tours over the years and this is one of the best I have ever been on. Tour guide/owner was very knowledgeable and pleasant. So many original things. It was fascinating.
