This was easy to use and interesting. Lots of information about the area. Your allowed for stopping or not, then would pick up wherever you wanted.

I took this tour with 2 adults and a 9-year old. It was nice to be able to sit back in the comfort of our car and listen to the enjoyable and informative tour narration as we followed the directions at our own pace. There was factual information about places we were passing by and why sites on Cape Cod were important and options for detours. The app was easy to use to stop and start the tour when we stopped along the way to check things out. I like that there are audio tours available with the app in other cities we might visit on future trips.

Good content, but better if it could integrate with Google or Apple Maps. Got lost quite a few times. Would recommend but use Google for navigation

Mattew, it sounds like you might be requesting CarPlay or Android Auto instead of Apple/Google Map integration (which my app has). CarPlay/AndroidAuto do not currently support my app on their screens but they do play my audio through the car. Let me know if I’ve misunderstood your question though!

We thoroughly enjoyed our audio tour of The Cape! Very innovative. Stories were nice to listen to as we visited local sites. If going to the lavender farm, make sure you take the second right as it is a one way loop. Also, when seeing the 3 Sisters and Nauset lighthouses, there is a small (free) parking area near 3 Sisters with a path to Nauset. Parking across from Nauset light will cost you $25.

It was a wonderful experience a couple of glitches which may have been “operator error”. It took us to places we wouldn’t have gone to if we didn’t have the tour
Only negative was it directed us down a one- way street in Provincetown that obviously should have been marked for pedestrians only. We should have parked and walked that area

This app was so informative! I loved the historical stories regarding the first settlers and the Indigenous people. So much detail we never learned in school. It took us longer than expected because we did take many of the detoured stops that were recommended. Toward the end we bypassed them and finished at Provincetown. It was a well spent $16.99! I would highly recommended it! (Side note - I would have loved to hear examples of the music that was described many times)

We were kinda expecting more of fishing/boating villages. I’m sure if you like driving a lot, it would be nice. But we like to walk/hike villages or small downtown areas. So we cut it short and drive straight to Provincetown.

The tour of Cape Cod was great. Lots of history and interesting facts. The directions were easy to follow and the app worked great. There were lots of optional detours so the tour could last just a 2 hours if you stayed in the main route or all day if you took the side routes.

Cruise around Cape Cod on your own time with our self-guided tour! It's good for a whole year after you book, so you can explore whenever you feel like it. Just remember each place has its own opening hours, so check those out before you go. Have a blast adventuring on Cape Cod!

I would agree that you want to keep your phone charged. I would absolutely get out and explore at many of the stops. We checked out many of the "extra" stops along the way.

The tour is 3 hours and it’s an app which means I have to use my phone. So using that app, taking pictures and possibly texting will probably make my phone battery die quickly, even before the tour is over 😕

Yes, your phone will use a lot of battery but that doesn’t mean it will die! Because this is a driving tour, we recommend connecting the phone to the car to make use of your car speakers for the best audio experience. This will make sure your phone remains charged as well. If you prefer to listen while unplugged, we also recommend a battery pack as a simple and easy backup plan. Please check out our FAQ for more details. Have a great trip!

Do you estimate 3 hours from start to finish or 3 hours start to the end and then back to where you started from?

Well three hours is really our maximum estimate of how long the one-way tour would take if you did all the detours, stopped at all the points, took a lot of photo breaks, etc. Plus, we factored in some summer-time traffic — which is no longer an issue! Now I would estimate 1.5 hours to get from the Rt 6 Visitor Center all the way to Provincetown while still getting the most from the tour.

Yes, you can take it anytime! The tour is yours from the moment you book — sort of like getting a CD. Once you book, you’ll get an email within 30 min, with two things: a password and an app. Download the app, enter the password, and download the tour. Once this is done, the tour is immediately available and there is no expiration — and you can use it multiple times.

The app can play over your car speakers. If a Bluetooth connection to your car doesn’t work, try a cable instead. And the best place to start is the Gettysburg Heritage Center! They don’t give away headphones but you can bring your own if you prefer to listen that way.

Umm, what was the purpose of listing the Lavender Farm in Harwich? We had to drive through the woods to find it and the sign on the street was minuscule. We laughed at the drive through the woods but the farm was not much to see.

Oh good to know! Their lavender fields are really pretty to walk through in the summer (late June/July is the peak) but I imagine it’s pretty blah right now. We will definitely update the stop content to clarify the seasonality — thank you for the feedback!

This is a great tour for families with kids! They’ll love the stories about the pilgrims and the Nauset tribe— and of course the quintessential Cape Cod lighthouses and the beautiful beaches are fun for everyone, no matter what age. The self-guided tour is also a great way to keep them entertained while driving down Rt 6 in the Cape (which is otherwise a very boring drive with nothing to see).

Parking availability in the Cape changes based on the season and national holidays but you shouldn’t have too many problems. The self-guided tour begins in Hyannis, at the Route 6 Visitor Information Center, which has plenty of parking. Then there are a few detours to fun Cape sites which also have free parking. Eventually the tour reaches Provincetown — the stops there can sometimes be crowded but overall you don’t have much to worry about!
